It’s one of only a handful of programs in the country with an affiliate professional theatre, Swine Palace, which enables you to work alongside leading professionals while earning your degree.

Arts Administration
In this program, you will learn about the daily operations of artistic venues like museums, theatres, and performance houses. Arts administrators can be responsible for anything from budgeting and fundraising to marketing and public relations for arts and cultural organizations.

Industrial engineers are engineers with a business flair who enjoy working with people. They apply engineering design to create and improve systems that deliver products or services. They strive to improve the productivity of their organizations and respond to changing customer needs and wants quickly and constantly. For instance, an industrial engineer may be involved in designing a new production plant for a car manufacturer (a product) or in designing an effective emergency room for a hospital (a service). In designing these systems, an industrial engineer integrates equipment, materials, energy, information, and people together to meet business objectives while ensuring product/service quality and reliability, the safety and satisfaction of customers and employees, and the effective and productive use of resources.

The versatility of industrial engineers allows them to engage in activities that are useful to a variety of businesses, governments, and nonprofits. For example, industrial engineers engage in supply chain management to help businesses minimize inventory costs, conduct quality assurance activities to help businesses keep their customer bases satisfied, and work in the growing field of project management as industries across the economy seek to control costs and maximize efficiencies. With skills that can be applied to almost any industry, industrial engineers can work in almost any field and at any type of organization/company.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

From companion animals to livestock, study all aspects of the animal industries, including production, processing, and nutrition, as well as care of companion animals and preparation for veterinary school. Hands-on learning, faculty-led research opportunities, and real-world experience prepare you for exciting and challenging careers.

Science and Technology: This science-intensive curriculum is geared toward careers in research and veterinary science.

One of only 15 U.S. programs recognized by the French government as a Centre d’Excellence, our Department of French Studies can help you develop a command of the language, and introduce you to French-speaking cultures around the world, including Louisiana’s own.

Secondary Education: If you want to teach French, you can do that, too. The available secondary education concentration allows you to pursue certification to teach while you are enjoying the courses you love.

If you enjoy bringing life to a creative thought, you may find your niche in studio art. Choose a focus in two- or three-dimensional art, such as ceramics and sculpture, painting and drawing, photography, or printmaking. Become familiar with a number of art techniques and the major achievements in the history of art. Gain an understanding of contemporary thinking about art and design, and learn to make valid assessments of quality in design projects and works of art. Studio artists are creative problem solvers who enjoy experimentation, are self-disciplined, and visually aware.

Graphic Design: Wherever words and images are used to present information and attract attention, graphic design comes into play. Today’s designers are challenged to be masters of a complex cluster of aesthetic, conceptual, technological, social, strategic, and presentation skills. The graphic design curriculum will prepare you to meet these challenges by helping you develop your skills in typography, print and editorial design, information design, digital imaging and motion graphics, packaging, environmental design, identity design, and branding.

The Bachelor of Arts is a broad-based liberal arts degree with an emphasis in the study of music. You can use this degree to explore music alongside other areas of study including business, engineering, arts administration, digital media, and jazz.

Experimental Music and Digital Media: Expand your interest in computer music, experimental music, music technology, and digital media to the next level and journey toward opportunities in electronic music and digital media. Combining music, technology, and science, you can participate in such activities as the Louisiana Mobile App Orchestra and the Laptop Orchestra of Louisiana.

Turn your passion into your career. Here, you will be able to take electives from multiple areas of business to craft a degree that suits your specific or varied interests within business. You will gain valuable insight and basic knowledge in key areas of accounting, economics, finance, information systems and decision sciences, management, and marketing as you build a customized curriculum that makes sense for your career goals.

Explore the natural world in biochemistry at LSU. This interdisciplinary area of study underlies many of the most cutting-edge breakthroughs in understanding life processes and is critical to modern medicine, so even as an undergraduate, you can participate in research that can have real-world implications.

You will feel right at home as a geography major. Take advantage of the special emphases in Latin American and East Asian geography. Get heavily involved in hands-on research projects and the student-run Geography and Anthropology Society.

Disaster Science & Management
In this concentration you will learn to help communities in crisis establish strategies to plan effectively for mitigation of adverse effects of, response to, and recovery from disasters.
