In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Global Studies: The concentration in global studies is a very broad concentration covering any topics which fall across multiple regions of the world. Much of international relations, global climate concerns, third world development, world population and globalization fit under this concentration.

Whether you have a passion for being on stage or are more interested in working behind the scenes, the School of Theatre offers you the opportunity to realize your dreams. It’s one of only a handful of programs in the country with an affiliate professional theatre, Swine Palace, which enables you to work alongside leading professionals while earning your degree.

Arts Administration
In this program, you will learn about the daily operations of artistic venues like museums, theatres, and performance houses. Arts administrators can be responsible for anything from budgeting and fundraising to marketing and public relations for arts and cultural organizations.

This major emphasizes a hands-on approach to understanding human behavior and offers exceptional preparation for graduate study in psychology or medical school. You can develop the skills you need in areas such as biological, clinical, cognitive, and school psychology. The department also has an extremely active honors program through which you can work with faculty mentors on meaningful research.

• Europe: The concentration in Europe focuses on the history, politics, art, and literature of the countries of modern Europe.

Establish a solid foundation for your career by focusing on the drivers of marketing, including the trends that cause existing and new markets to develop. You will have the chance to enroll in innovative courses such as “Marketing on the Internet” and “Sports Marketing.” Additionally, the department participates in the International Business Seminars program, allowing students to travel to Europe and learn best business practices from several firms and companies.

Digital Marketing: Students integrate their knowledge of promotions, marketing research, consumer behavior, and statistics with exposure to digital marketing content distribution platforms to equip themselves with the practical knowledge and skillsets necessary to succeed in the growing and in-demand professions of digital and social media marketing.

This major prepares you to teach music in elementary, middle, and high schools. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that fulfills requirements for students to earn a K-12 Louisiana teaching license upon graduation.

Courses in music theory, music history, conducting, jazz, piano, and technology complement this developing musical artistry forming a foundation that melds with professional education course work in teaching and psychology. Through collaborations with urban and suburban schools in the Baton Rouge and surrounding area, students participate in varied experiences that provide perspective and a basis from which to make career choices.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

Petroleum engineers design and manage drilling and production operations around the world wherever oil and natural gas is found. This may take place in the Arctic, jungles, oceans, or even in shale formations here in the United States. Petroleum engineers thoroughly study geologic and engineering data in order to design drilling and production operations that maximize production rates and reservoir recovery. As a petroleum engineer, you might move to field, district, area, staff, and chief petroleum engineering positions.
