The MA in Middle School Education prepares teacher candidates to address the learning and socio-emotional needs of children in middle school classrooms. This intensive, field-based program prepares candidates to work democratically with diverse children and families, including those with special needs and second language backgrounds. It leads to Illinois teaching credentials in the areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

The BS degree in Biochemistry provides thorough training in the fundamental principles and experimental techniques of chemistry and biology as they apply to biological systems, and emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of these sciences. This program prepares students for a wide variety of careers, including biological or biochemical research, health sciences, government, industry, or with additional coursework in the College of Education, secondary science teaching. For students seeking careers in industry, the biochemistry major may lead to work in interdisciplinary sciences such as biotechnology, forensics, environmental science, or pharmacology, and it is well suited to the needs of pre-professional students, including pre-medical students and pre-pharmacy students.

The Master of Arts in Performing Arts Administration is designed to hone the skills of current and aspiring administrators and to cultivate the next generation of great professionals within the field. Students in this selective program will take a broad range of courses in the areas of marketing, public relations, finance, development, technology, community engagement and more. Course work is taught by current and former senior administrators of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and League of American Orchestras, among others, all of whom have firsthand knowledge and experience in the field.

As the world becomes more reliant on internet-based technologies, there is high demand for professionals trained in information security. Roosevelt’s Bachelor of Science in Cyber and Information Security program is designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Established in 1984 to serve and support Chicago's number one industry, the Manfred Steinfeld undergraduate program is a premier four-year hospitality program in Illinois. Named for Manfred Steinfeld, the program's benefactor and chairman and former CEO of Shelby Williams Industries, the Roosevelt program seeks to produce leaders and innovators in hospitality and tourism management. With Chicago as our campus, the curriculum is implemented by an experienced faculty and staff from the nation's hospitality, event planning and tourism industries. Students include a lively mix of entering freshmen, transfer students and a representative international population.

The BA in Education and Youth Studies prepares undergraduates to support the learning and socio-emotional needs of school-age youth (five through sixteen) and their families in roles that do not require teacher licensure, such as teaching assistant, coordinator of tutoring, and student support specialist. This field-based program prepares every candidate to work democratically with diverse children and families, including those with special needs and second language backgrounds. It leads to employment credentials that are recognized by schools and non-profit community organizations, and is excellent preparation for careers in counseling, human services and non-profit public administration.

This program is designed for those who are interested in clinical practice at the master’s level. In Illinois (and many other states), completion of this program qualifies graduates to apply for licensure as a professional counselor (LPC, and later LCPC). The program is 60 semester hours that provides broad-based training in psychological assessment and intervention as well as in the theory and research that supports these practices. This program also provides appropriate preparation for those wishing to apply to PsyD and PhD programs in clinical psychology.

This computer science program follows an enhanced traditional curriculum, with its emphasis on data, data theory and computing systems theory. It prepares students to pursue careers in highly advanced areas such as data systems, systems programming and software engineering, or to go on to pursue graduate degrees in computer science.

The MA in Secondary Education (SEED) prepares teacher candidates to address the learning and socio-emotional needs of adolescents in grades 9 through 12. This intensive, field-based program prepares every candidate to work democratically with diverse children and families in the subject areas of biology, business, chemistry, English, history, and math. It provides opportunities to earn a combination of Illinois teaching credentials prior to the completion of the MA degree, including the middle school endorsement.
