Establish yourself as an expert in combining computer programming or statistics with mathematics. In both applied and theoretical courses, Roosevelt mathematics graduate students gain the personalized attention and expertise necessary to become leaders in their field.

International studies is a growing interdisciplinary field that offers students the opportunity to study politics, economics, history, sociology, anthropology and communication as parts of a complex and evolving global system. Rather than focusing just on relations between states in the international system, the international studies major affords students the opportunity to create a focus on particular geographic areas of the world, the evolution of the international system itself, or on global race, gender and activism.

The Music Composition program challenges individual composers to hone their creative skills. Students will cultivate the ability to use all of the building blocks of music to create a diverse portfolio of original works, gain necessary professional skills, and explore a wide variety of musical styles as they develop their unique voices.

A graduate degree track offered in collaboration between Roosevelt University and the Music Institute of Chicago, the Master of Music Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy is available to qualified violinists, violists, cellists and flutists. The degree combines advanced performance and academic studies with in-depth studies of Suzuki Education and development of teaching skills through observations, practicum and apprentice teaching. Also offered is a Certificate in Suzuki Pedagogy, designed for skilled musicians who already have or are not interested in pursuing a master’s degree, but have a strong interest in teaching as a vocation and commitment to Suzuki Education.

The BA in Music and Computing is an interdisciplinary degree that provides students with the specific tools and methods to study both music composition and computer programming. The goal of this program is for students to create and explore music software, music authoring systems, algorithmic composition, video game music and similar projects.

This is a joint degree where students take approximately equal credit hours from each discipline (Music Composition and Computer Science), in addition to general studies.

Of the dozens of majors offered at Roosevelt University, philosophy is perhaps the one most closely aligned with the university’s mission to educate socially conscious citizens. At Roosevelt, our graphic design classes will provide the skills needed to create visual concepts and to communicate ideas by using cutting-edge software to prepare you for the industry’s competitive environment. Web, video, print, photography and digital animation are all covered through our graphic arts courses. Students will be equipped with the knowledge necessary for effective visual presentation of verbal, photographic and graphic information. Those in Roosevelt's graphic design programs will also learn to communicate visually and verbally by using an aesthetic perspective, which is developed through the study of design history and theory.

Learn the methodology to diagnose and solve organizational problems, and earn the statistical and critical thinking skills to succeed in the business world. Our graduates enter the workforce ready to thrive in exciting jobs in organizational consulting and human resources.

The BA in Special Education (SPED) prepares teacher candidates to address the learning and socio-emotional needs of children and adolescents with learning and intellectual disabilities, severe emotional and behavior disorders, and other disabilities. This intensive, field-based program prepares every candidate to work democratically at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. It leads to the Illinois LBS1 teaching credential.

Actuarial science applies probability theory and risk management to the areas of life and health insurance, property and casualty insurance, pension plans, and other employee benefit plans. Students who seek a graduate degree in actuarial science may have earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics, finance, economics, computer science, or other related fields.
