Named for Manfred Steinfeld, the program's benefactor and chairman and former CEO of Shelby Williams Industries, the Roosevelt program seeks to produce leaders and innovators in hospitality and tourism management. With Chicago as our campus, the curriculum is implemented by an experienced faculty and staff from the nation's hospitality, event planning and tourism industries. The Master of Arts degree in General Psychology is a fully online program, providing broad-based training in applied psychology, research, and intervention. This program is designed for current professionals employed in fields such as social work, counseling, nursing, or business and who wish to broaden their areas of expertise. Students seeking preparation for doctoral studies will also benefit from this program. Roosevelt's program can be completed in one calendar year. 

Actuarial science applies probability theory and risk management to the areas of life and health insurance, property and casualty insurance, pension plans, and other employee benefit plans. Risk analysts and actuaries, who evaluate the long-term financial impact of these plans on both the issuing company and the purchaser or beneficiary of the plan, are employed by insurance companies, consulting firms, large corporations and governmental agencies. The major in actuarial science emphasizes the mathematical theory that underlies risk evaluation.

The Bachelor's in Journalism and Media Studies degree is a mix of hands-on professional courses and theoretical courses that allows students a choice between two related but distinct concentrations. Students in the journalism concentration will complete coursework in online, broadcast and print journalism and are thus prepared for work in today's multimedia news environment. Students in the media studies concentration gain the objective knowledge, tools and skills to analyze, evaluate and create messages using all forms of media technologies to prepare for graduate study as well as for work in the media industries and careers involving mediated communications.

The MA in Elementary Education (ELED) prepares teacher candidates to address the learning and socio-emotional needs of children from 1st through 6th grades. This intensive, field-based program prepares every candidate to work democratically with diverse children and families, including those with special needs and second language backgrounds. It provides opportunities to earn a combination of Illinois teaching credentials.

The Music Composition program challenges individual composers to hone their creative skills. Students will cultivate the ability to use all of the building blocks of music to create a diverse portfolio of original works, gain necessary professional skills, and explore a wide variety of musical styles as they develop their unique voices.

Nuclear medicine technologists are involved in direct patient care. Nuclear medicine provides unique information about the structure and function of virtually every major organ system within the body. It is the ability to characterize and quantify physiologic function at the molecular level that separates nuclear medicine from other imaging modalities. Nuclear medical technologists work with physicians to administer radioactive nuclides for the diagnosis of disease and to provide therapy. Most nuclear medicine technologists work in hospitals. This is a 3+1 program in which the first three years of course work are completed at Roosevelt University with the final year completed at the clinical affiliate site.

The emphasis of the Master of Science in Biology degree program is to develop practical research and professional skills and a thorough conceptual foundation in biological science. The program is course-based and includes a one-semester research experience. Students who are prepared for additional research training may pursue a master’s thesis under the sponsorship of a department faculty member.

This program has been designed to offer students the opportunity to major in both traditional and emerging financial fields. Course offerings give students a broad exposure to contemporary issues in the financial world. Courses in finance have been designed to meet the following objectives:
