Overview
The study of human communication allows students to develop critical thinking skills, an understanding of cultural and gender-related differences in how people communicate, and it sharpens their marketable skills such as writing, public speaking and persuasion.
Students with a B.A. in human communication pursue jobs in a wide range of industries including management, sales, human resources, higher education (admissions and student services), marketing and training. Many students also continue their education in graduate school, law school and business or professional graduate degree programs.
Students must choose one track from the following: General Human Communication, Business and Professional Communication, Health Communication, Interpersonal Communication, or Social Innovation and Activism.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders houses the Communication Disorders Clinic, located in Research Park. The clinic provides services for individuals with communication impairments in Central Florida, while also giving students hands-on experience in the field.

Computational physics (CP) is an approach to physics that uses computers to solve problems where a precise theory exists but the resulting equations are intractable to traditional analytical approaches. This area is relatively new in physics, but continues to grow in relevance especially as computational power and algorithms evolve. Computational approaches are applied to a wide range of areas, including condensed matter, surface physics, materials physics, soft-condensed matter, and biological physics.

Students majoring in the Social Sciences Interdisciplinary B.S. program are provided with interdisciplinary breadth and depth in the Social Sciences as they fulfill the requirements of three separate social science minors of their choice, a statistics course, and a methodology course. The Social Science minors are housed in Anthropology, Communication, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Women's and Gender Studies. This major supports UCF's goal of offering the best undergraduate education available in Florida with flexibility that is absent in most discipline-specific programs.

Undergraduate Extended Accelerator Pathway (3-Term) - Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Exercise and Sport Physiology
The Kinesiology B.S. Exercise and Sport Physiology track is appropriate for students interested in pursuing careers in sport science, health promotion, medicine, wellness, sports medicine, and allied health (i.e. physical therapy, athletic training, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and corporate wellness). Students who may be continuing on to graduate school in a clinical or medical area should consider pre-requisites for graduate school when choosing certain classes. Students are advised to check the Graduate Program's website for updated information, as well as the Undergraduate Catalog for appropriate General Education courses.

The Bachelor of Arts in Art – History offers undergraduate students specific knowledge about art and architecture from prehistory to the present. The BS in Teacher Education program at UCF prepares you to effectively teach art, physical education or world language subjects at the elementary (K-5), middle (6-8) and high school (9-12) grade levels. Using current technologies in the classroom, you’ll gain first-hand experience in developing pedagogy and content knowledge to meet the needs of students and learn how to teach learners with varying abilities.
Throughout your time at UCF, you’ll have many opportunities to engage in additional professional development workshops as well as participate in an annual student showcase. The KnightED Talks workshops, offered throughout the fall and spring semesters, provide you with regular professional learning on topics of relevance to the teaching profession.
