The Bachelor of Science degree in Senior Living Management is an interdisciplinary program that merges hospitality, gerontology and healthcare services. It will provide undergraduate students with the appropriate competitive skillset to acquire a managerial position in various types of senior living facilities, especially independent living, assisted living and continuous care retirement communities. It will provide a career path for students seeking employment in the senior living industry as business practitioners as opposed to that of direct care giver. The aim of this educational program is for UCF graduates to become the future managers and leaders of the senior living industry.

The Journalism B.A. provides students with the skills and knowledge leading to careers in electronic and digital media. It is a limited-access degree program, which means a separate application must be submitted directly to the Nicholson School of Communication and Media in order to be considered for admission. Students choose from two focus areas:

• Digital News. For students who wish to work as writers, reporters, editors and photographers for the news media, primarily websites, newspapers and magazines.
• Electronic News. For students who desire to work in broadcast news as reporters, photographers, anchors or broadcast sports journalists.

The BA in Criminal Justice program at UCF is uniquely designed to provide you with a broad understanding of crime and society’s control mechanisms, as well as to prepare you for a professional career in criminal justice and related professions. You’ll learn how to take a broad yet specialized degree and apply it to the operations of criminal justice professions, such as law enforcement, courts, corrections, advocacy (domestic violence, human trafficking, elderly abuse), juvenile justice and cybersecurity. Along the way, mix your academic experience with practical application through internships, study abroad and experiential learning.

Restaurant & Foodservice Management (BS) may be completed fully online, although not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. The UCF Psychology Department is the largest in the Western Hemisphere by student enrollment. Currently at the undergraduate level we have well over 4,500 psychology majors, nearly 1,000 psychology minors, and over 180 students seeking the Behavioral Forensics Certificate. We also have well over 150 graduate students across our different doctoral and masters programs. We are Central to any conversation about Psychology Training in the State of Florida.

The mission of the UCF Department of Mathematics is to offer the opportunity for excellence and development to students with visionary and relevant programs of high quality at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to advance mathematical research to benefit society. We offer doctoral and masters programs that encourages student to develop into mathematicians. The School of Social Work at UCF offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work. Each program is fully accredited through 2024 by the Council on Social Work Education.

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program prepares generalist social work practitioners skilled in the design and delivery of social services across a wide range of practice settings, including health settings.

The Master of Social Work (MSW) program prepares generalist and advanced clinical social work practitioners to engage effectively in evidenced based clinical social work practice that promotes optimal well being in individuals, families and communities experiencing health and mental health challenges.

The BS in Teacher Education program at UCF prepares you to effectively teach art, physical education or world language subjects at the elementary (K-5), middle (6-8) and high school (9-12) grade levels. Using current technologies in the classroom, you’ll gain first-hand experience in developing pedagogy and content knowledge to meet the needs of students and learn how to teach learners with varying abilities.

Throughout your time at UCF, you’ll have many opportunities to engage in additional professional development workshops as well as participate in an annual student showcase. The KnightED Talks workshops, offered throughout the fall and spring semesters, provide you with regular professional learning on topics of relevance to the teaching profession. The KnightED Talks Student Showcase is a forum where you can share your best work with peers. This professional development opportunity enhances both your scholarship and presentational skills.
