Students completing the Forensic Science - Biochemistry Track B.S. degree will also meet the requirements for ACS certification. This track is designed to align students with specific courses necessary for the examination of DNA and other biochemical evidence. Students should be advised that background checks similar to those required for law enforcement officers are likely to be a condition of employment (Reference: NIJ Report NCJ 203099).

Composition students will take theoretical and practical courses in music composition as well music history, theory, film and video game composition, piano, conducting and more. They perform in major and minor ensembles, and hear their own compositions played at composition studio recitals.

The composition studio at UCF is small and competitive. Student composers receive an extraordinary amount of personalized instruction and are able to access resources set aside exclusively for their use, including UCF’s state-of-the-art Media Composition Lab.

Housed in the L3Harris Engineering Center, the computer science program has classrooms and high-tech innovative lab spaces where cutting-edge research is performed covering a wide range of topics. These labs include the Siemens Digital Grid Laboratory and a planned 360-degree augmented-virtual reality lab space.

Event planning is a highly complex and dynamic field that comes with many challenges and opportunities. The BS in Event Management program provides you with the theoretical and practical tools needed to lead the future of the event industry. Our program provides you with a toolbox of resources, best practices and other skills needed to succeed.

Your courses will cover a broad set of skills that prepare you to manage small to large-scale events — from inception to implementation. Learn from world-renowned educators who bring years of experience to the classroom. Explore topics such as event management, including risk management, marketing, finance and logistics while utilizing the newest technologies and emerging industry trends. Plus, you’ll gain greater insight into a wide range of events like fairs, festivals, entertainment and sporting events, meetings and tradeshows. The Sociology degree, which may be completed online, face-to-face, or as a mix of online and face-to-face courses, has two major goals: 1) to promote undergraduate student excellence and 2) to advance career success for graduates by providing them with tangible, career-oriented skills. A dedicated faculty offers state-of-the-art courses that are relevant to current issues affecting our students' lives and their future careers. Graduates are prepared for careers that require employees who think critically and have analytic and technical skills related to understanding crime, law, and deviance; medical sociology; diversity and inequalities; and/or mass culture and collective behavior.
