Overview

his 2+2 degree program is offered by UCF on the Daytona Beach Campus. The B.S. in Photography degree prepares students for professional practice with strong technical, creative and critical skills.Photography is also available as an area of specialization on the Orlando campus through the School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) as part of the Art, Studio Track (B.A.) and Studio Art (B.F.A.) programs.

As part of the program, some courses study the form and proportion of the human figure. Nude models are used as reference.

Work Permit USA

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.

It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

  1. Pre-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment provided to F-1 students before completion of their course of study.
  2. Post-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment available to F-1 students after completing their course of study.
  3. 24 Month STEM Extension: Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses can a 24-month extension after their initial Post-Completion OPT authorization.

The Business Economics major for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration provides you with specialized training in economics along with core skills in business administration. Throughout the program, you’ll have the flexibility to select from a variety of courses that allow you to customize your education program to your personal interests and career goals.

Build a solid background in economics and develop a unique perspective to help companies and organizations improve their decision-making and understand the consequences of their decisions. Explore areas such as data acquisition and analysis, interpersonal communication skills, critical thinking, report writing, and develop competency with relevant software. Students majoring in the Social Sciences Interdisciplinary B.S. program are provided with interdisciplinary breadth and depth in the Social Sciences as they fulfill the requirements of three separate social science minors of their choice, a statistics course, and a methodology course. The Social Science minors are housed in Anthropology, Communication, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Women's and Gender Studies. This major supports UCF's goal of offering the best undergraduate education available in Florida with flexibility that is absent in most discipline-specific programs.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film emphasizes authorship in Film Production to empower our graduates for lifelong success in a variety of filmmaking and screenwriting modalities. Working with a diverse faculty in an intensive tutorial environment, students author original works, collaborate with a creative team, and develop their personal voice. Graduates will leave equipped with a broad array of skills to compete in the film industry or continue their studies in graduate school.

The Film BFA is a limited-access, 4-year degree program that shares a cinema studies and production core with the Film B.A. program. After completing foundational requirements as Film B.A. majors, students can choose to apply for entry into the BFA via a portfolio review in their second year. Once accepted, students can design a plan of study for different modalities in narrative, documentary, and experimental filmmaking as well as screenwriting.

As part of their Capstone experience, Film BFA students organize a curated exhibition of creative works from the Film B.A. and Film BFA degree programs. They also learn about the professional practice to help better prepare themselves for life after film school, navigating a career in industry and the arts.

Construction engineering prepares students for the management of construction project planning and control. UCF’s program focuses on construction methods and processes, resource management, cost estimation and scheduling, and resource management. Construction engineers combine knowledge of technical engineering design, economic and managerial processes, labor, and equipment to successfully deliver constructed facilities in a timely fashion that meet budget and quality requirements.
