Overview
The Lodging Track is designed to complement the B.S. in Hospitality Management, and aligns with students’ elective credits without requiring incremental credit hours.
The Lodging Management track gives students a competitive advantage when applying for jobs and building a career by developing “professional worth”. The 7 specialized courses are created and taught by UCF Rosen College faculty with numerous years of industry experience, who bring real-world context to the curriculum, including direct engagement with lodging industry executives. The key learnings and exposure to lodging-specific content will better prepare students for a career in lodging and lodging-related fields.
The lodging industry is vast and global, with the potential for significant career growth and salary gains over time. Career options include: Hotel General Management, Revenue Management, Lodging Sales, Real Estate Management, Convention Service Management, Technology Management, Hotel Design, Marketing, Human Resources Management, Hotel Brand Development both domestic and international, Resort Time Share Management, Risk Management, and many others.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

As an electrical engineering major, you’ll revolutionize the way we live. Society depends on electrical engineers to create, design, produce, operate and maintain the world’s equipment and services as well as to solve future life challenges with advances in science and technology.
Communications and Signal Processing Track
Develop and apply theory and algorithms in the broad fields of communications, networked systems and signal processing. In this track, you’ll have a variety of technical electives to choose from including wireless communication, satellite communication, communication networks, smart grid networks and image processing.

Undergraduate Extended Accelerator Pathway (3-Term) - Bachelor of Science in Biology - Plant Sciences
The Plant Science Track is designed to give students a diverse understanding of the plant world and their impact on human lives and environment. Plant Kingdom, Plant Anatomy, Plant Physiology and Plant Taxonomy courses will position students to find jobs in biotechnology labs, state parks and as field technicians as well as teaching in high schools or obtaining internships in other botanical institutions. Culinary Botany focuses on health and nutrition derived from plants and Medical Botany prepares students towards a career in naturopathy, allopathy and Pharmacy programs.

The BFA degree prepares students for professional practices and is recommended for students who plan to attend graduate school. The BFA degree provides a solid foundation in techniques and theory in focused areas of competence. The School affirms that a theoretical and working understanding of the historical meanings and studio applications of the human image are critical in the education of Visual Art and Art History students.
