We offer a theatre and dance major that allows for artists to become well-rounded and socially conscious practitioners through experiential learning in all areas. Students can pursue four different concentrations in the major: acting, applied theatre, dance and performance technology, or simply choose theatre studies for a generalist approach.

French and English are the only languages spoken on all five inhabited continents. With 300 million French speakers in the world, the ability to speak French is a career asset for our graduates. French is the official working language of the United Nations, the European Union, UNESCO, NATO, the International Olympic Committee and the International Red Cross.

This program teaches and instills leadership traits and qualities, so that you may one day lead an organization. Students gain unique skills and experiences related to the military, such as map reading, land navigation, marksmanship, rappelling and much more. Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education. In addition to our rigourous academic program, students can work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as discovering novel inhibitors of bacterial efflux pumps as a way to combat multi-drug resistance in bacteria, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings, and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments.

Our students study Chaucer and Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Toni Morrison, Claudia Rankine and Kendrick Lamar. Our students look to the deep meanings that great writing reveals about human life, human community and our shared, common home. Our students love to read and become master readers – they leverage that mastery in their professional lives.

You begin in the classroom learning the foundations of biology, but quickly find yourself discovering antibiotic-producing bacteria, wading through wetlands, exploring behavioral neuroscience, analyzing real-time physiological data collected on classmates, or studying patterns of evolution in fruit flies.

In addition to our rigorous academic program, students are provided with many opportunities to work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as developing improved flame retardants, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments. Environmental biology is a dynamic and growing major which prepares students with the scientific background needed to understand and address the many pressing environmental concerns that exist in the modern world. Our program emphasizes experiential learning and creates opportunities for students to get out of the class room into nature.

As a chemical engineering major, you will apply the principles of multidisciplinary sciences, problem solving, economics, and human relations to develop new products and processes, as well as design, build, and supervise facilities that convert raw materials into products and services for the common good.

Our chemical engineering program will provide you with fundamental science and engineering skills, applied engineering knowledge, and extensive experiential laboratory learning which culminate in a real-world design capstone. UD successfully integrates these core technical competencies with a balanced general education, opportunities for industrial or research involvement, and an overarching community environment, to create a unique, well-rounded educational experience that will prepare you for later success in the workforce, graduate school, or professional school.
