You will learn the musical and historical elements of jazz by studying jazz improvisation, theory, history, composition and arranging by taking weekly jazz lessons in your area of expertise. You also will perform in one of several jazz ensembles and a faculty-coached combo.

We offer a theatre and dance major that allows for artists to become well-rounded and socially conscious practitioners through experiential learning in all areas. Students can pursue four different concentrations in the major: acting, applied theatre, dance and performance technology, or simply choose theatre studies for a generalist approach.

The Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy program at the University of Dayton is designed for experienced early childhood professionals — such as program administrators, supervisors, teacher leaders and other professionals — who work with and advocate for young children and their families.

Our students study Chaucer and Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Toni Morrison, Claudia Rankine and Kendrick Lamar. Our B.A. in communication prepares students for professional careers in a wide range of communication fields: broadcasting, communication management, healthcare administration, journalism and public relations. Our graduates succeed in business, education, government, healthcare, international relations, and social and human services. We also offer graduate studies in business communication and law, and an undergraduate certificate in sport communication.

As an electrical engineering graduate student, you’ll work with top scholars and industry leaders and develop your area of expertise. Your work is supported with faculty expertise and seven computer labs with industry-specific software along with ten specialized laboratories.

People have been exploring ideas and expressing their thoughts and feelings by producing art throughout history. By studying art history, you will learn how art embodies and controls cultural, economic, gender, political, religious and social dynamics.

An integral part of the curriculum is supervised clinical service to individuals and groups in a variety of community settings, including skilled nursing care, early intervention programs, substance use rehabilitation and special needs classrooms.
