In the School of Business Administration, you may participate in the Discover Business program if you are unsure which area of business is most appropriate for you. The structure of the curriculum is such that the final decision about a specific major need not be made until the junior year.

As a first-year student, you'll participate in a one-credit course in business educational planning where you will learn about the nine majors available in the School of Business Administration. This experience will help you select an appropriate major and provide the necessary framework to help realize academic, professional and extracurricular goals.

We work closely with alumni and private business leaders to supply ongoing research opportunities, such as with fluid mechanics or the mechanical behavior of materials. Altogether, the engineering mechanics program prepares you to solve problems and improve outcomes in your area of expertise.

From market research and product design to advertising and sales, marketing is the process of planning and executing the distribution of ideas, goods and services. In marketing, you will learn to identify, understand and satisfy the needs of consumers and organizations. Our curriculum teaches you to see the "big picture" of the overall marketing process while you learn about specialized marketing activities such as advertising, product development and sales.

During the capstone marketing course, you will take an in-depth look at buyer behavior and market research as you design a marketing plan to deliver a product or service effectively and efficiently to the target market for a real organization.

In addition to core marketing classes, electives allow you to specialize in advertising, entrepreneurial marketing, international marketing, Internet marketing, promotion management or retail marketing. Environmental biology is a dynamic and growing major which prepares students with the scientific background needed to understand and address the many pressing environmental concerns that exist in the modern world.
