As an electrical engineering graduate student, you’ll work with top scholars and industry leaders and develop your area of expertise. Your work is supported with faculty expertise and seven computer labs with industry-specific software along with ten specialized laboratories.

Areas of emphasis include:

• Electromagnetics and signal processing
• Optical processing and nonlinear optics
• Signal and image processing
• Control theory and systems
• Digital systems

In addition to our rigorous academic program, students are provided with many opportunities to work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as developing improved flame retardants, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments. Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education.

The criminal justice studies major is individualized and students choose the justice path that is right for them. The program is an excellent academic home for students interested in law and legal careers, intelligence, forensic psychology, federal law enforcement, probation and work with at-risk populations in the community.

A fine arts degree provides an intensive, professional exploration of fine art media. Students develop a portfolio and career plan through an emphasis in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture.

You'll be enrolled in a specially designed seminar course that offers an introduction to the division, its faculty, curriculum, opportunities for graduates, and the various policies and procedures necessary for the successful student to follow. This seminar provides information on cooperative education and internship opportunities, as well as extracurricular options. The classes are small, and the attention is as individual as needed. With the help of this seminar, along with the assistance of your knowledgeable adviser, you will discover the area of engineering technology that's right for you.

Once you decide on your engineering academic program, students admitted as Discover Engineering Technology are guaranteed to move into any engineering technology program and students admitted as Discover Engineering are guaranteed to move into any engineering program. Our faculty and staff mentor our students for successful careers in mechanical engineering that align with personal interests by bringing state-of-the-art research and modern engineering challenges into the classroom. The Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy program at the University of Dayton is designed for experienced early childhood professionals — such as program administrators, supervisors, teacher leaders and other professionals — who work with and advocate for young children and their families.

Students dive deep into rhetoric and composition, learning about language and the context in which it is written and read.

The issues facing us today are increasingly global in nature. The context in which we lead our professional and personal lives is steadily becoming more multicultural and global in scope, demanding new levels of international knowledge - knowledge beyond just geography, a few phrases of a foreign language, and a guide book.

Environmental biology is a dynamic and growing major which prepares students with the scientific background needed to understand and address the many pressing environmental concerns that exist in the modern world. Our program emphasizes experiential learning and creates opportunities for students to get out of the class room into nature.
