The issues facing us today are increasingly global in nature. The context in which we lead our professional and personal lives is steadily becoming more multicultural and global in scope, demanding new levels of international knowledge - knowledge beyond just geography, a few phrases of a foreign language, and a guide book.

We offer a theatre and dance major that allows for artists to become well-rounded and socially conscious practitioners through experiential learning in all areas. Students can pursue four different concentrations in the major: acting, applied theatre, dance and performance technology, or simply choose theatre studies for a generalist approach.

The study of history provides students with important skills – including critical reading, writing and thinking – that will make them informed citizens ready to work for the common good. The study of history not only prepares students to participate in civic life, but is also a stepping stone to careers in many diverse fields.

We foster the understanding of language and literature from rhetorical, creative, critical, historical, comparative and global perspectives. With our diverse array of tracks, coupled with our faculty's broad range of expertise, our students can learn anything from British literature, linguistics, grant writing or creative writing.

The transdisciplinary early childhood education (ECE) graduate program is a cohort program designed for individuals who seek to work with young children and their families. The degree also includes courses focusing on very young children with special needs.

Thesis and non-thesis options available.

• Blended curriculum combines coursework specific to both special education and general education.
• Optional: the prekindergarten special needs endorsement.
• Optional: coursework for the early childhood intervention specialist certificate.

A fine arts degree provides an intensive, professional exploration of fine art media. Students develop a portfolio and career plan through an emphasis in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture.

The psychology major at the University of Dayton will prepare you to apply scientific reasoning to the understanding of human behavior, teaching you the knowledge and methods required to explain, predict and shape behavior. As a member of the Discover Engineering program at the University of Dayton, you will explore the academic programs in the School of Engineering before finalizing your major. With the help of a semester-long seminar and the assistance of your Student Success adviser, you'll discover the area of engineering that's right for you while staying on track academically. The seminar covers the curriculum and careers of each engineering program (chemical, civil, computer, electrical and mechanical), as well as the multitude of complementary minors, concentrations and programs.

Once you decide on your engineering academic program, students admitted as Discover Engineering are guaranteed to move into any engineering program and students admitted as Discover Engineering Technology are guaranteed to move into any engineering technology program.  If you'd like to move between the engineering and engineering technology programs, you can coordinate with your Student Success adviser on the process to do so!
