The psychology major at the University of Dayton will prepare you to apply scientific reasoning to the understanding of human behavior, teaching you the knowledge and methods required to explain, predict and shape behavior. In addition to our rigorous academic program, students are provided with many opportunities to work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as developing improved flame retardants, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments. Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education.

A solid music curriculum combined with an arts and sciences education provides students the ability and flexibility to pursue their interests and prepare for their career.

You will learn the musical and historical elements of jazz by studying jazz improvisation, theory, history, composition and arranging by taking weekly jazz lessons in your area of expertise. You also will perform in one of several jazz ensembles and a faculty-coached combo.

Our focus is to advance the state-of-art design of civil systems and lead efforts in sustainable infrastructure development. In our program, you’ll gain firsthand experience working with international faculty. Business economics is the study of the choices we make when faced with limited resources. It involves analyzing decisions made by firms and individuals, as well as government policy decisions dealing with unemployment, inflation, international trade, income distribution, government regulation, and money and banking systems.

As you study business economics, you will develop a strong foundation through core business courses such as accounting, business ethics, decision sciences, finance, management, management information systems, marketing and operations management. Additional coursework provides an integrated, multifaceted approach to the career world.

As a UD entrepreneurship major, you'll learn to launch and sustain a business. But this program does not simply talk theory; it involves real decisions and action. During the Sophomore Experience, you will create and run a microbusiness with $5,000 in start-up capital.

Our B.A. in communication prepares students for professional careers in a wide range of communication fields: broadcasting, communication management, healthcare administration, journalism and public relations. Our graduates succeed in business, education, government, healthcare, international relations, and social and human services. We also offer graduate studies in business communication and law, and an undergraduate certificate in sport communication.
