Our students are taught by an outstanding array of scholar-teachers in areas of inquiry that include American politics, public law, public administration, international relations, comparative politics, public policy, environmental politics, urban politics and political theory.

The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts emphasizes a broad arts and sciences education with supportive studies in art, photography, design and art history. Students receive a breadth of exploration in their coursework.

At the University of Dayton, our electronic and computer engineering technology majors prepare for careers in at a variety of tasks including analog and digital design, microprocessor hardware and software applications, electronic controls, automation, engineering sales and support, product design and development, and data communications.

The electronic and computer engineering technology curriculum includes a strong emphasis on computers and applied engineering topics in circuit analysis, analog and digital electronic design, digital communications, digital circuits, microprocessors, software, and data acquisition instrumentation.

Graphic design is an intensive professional degree major that combines art and design foundation courses with the graphic design curriculum and an arts and sciences education.

We view an engineer as a well-rounded person with technical skills and a human-centered mindset. Our faculty and staff mentor our students for successful careers in mechanical engineering that align with personal interests by bringing state-of-the-art research and modern engineering challenges into the classroom. Along with a high retention rate through graduation, we engage students through experiential learning, and we have an extremely high job and graduate school placement rate. Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education. In addition to our rigourous academic program, students can work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as discovering novel inhibitors of bacterial efflux pumps as a way to combat multi-drug resistance in bacteria, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings, and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments.

As a sociology major you will build awareness for the different types of social inequality that exist, who is negatively impacted, where and how it emerges, and what perpetuates it. Courses will not only shed light on social inequality, but will teach you how to do something about it.

Spanish is the second-largest native language in the world, the second language used for international communication, and the third most used language on the Internet. Having a Spanish credential will make you more attractive to employers in many fields across the U.S. and around the globe.

The Industrial Engineering Technology program prepares students for management and engineering positions in manufacturing and service organizations such as healthcare, banking and finance, transportation, retail, and government. Graduates may be involved in supply chain management, data-driven economic decisions, planning and scheduling of work methods and expected output, quality assurance, optimization of facilities layout and processes.
