As a student in the Interdisciplinary Educational Studies program at the University of Dayton, you’ll have the flexibility to chart your own path to success and design a program to meet your diverse professional goals.

Candidates must select concentration coursework from both the School of Education and Health Sciences and at least one department outside SEHS.

Our B.A. in communication prepares students for professional careers in a wide range of communication fields: broadcasting, communication management, healthcare administration, journalism and public relations. Our graduates succeed in business, education, government, healthcare, international relations, and social and human services. We also offer graduate studies in business communication and law, and an undergraduate certificate in sport communication.

In addition to our rigorous academic program, students are provided with many opportunities to work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as developing improved flame retardants, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments. Owing to the fact that UD conducts about $18 million in bioscience and bioengineering research, you’ll have many chances to get hands-on with your degree. Opportunities include university biochemical, biomechanical, biomaterials and bioenergy labs.
