Environmental geosciences tackle society’s most important environmental problems – climate change, energy resources, pollution and hazards – through a detailed and integrated study of major components of the Earth system: atmosphere, hydrosphere and the solid Earth.

Geologists study the Earth’s materials, structures and processes, and how they have changed over the 4.6 billion years of the Earth’s history. In doing so, geologists address some of society’s most important problems, such as finding energy, water and mineral resources; environmental pollution and its prevention; and natural hazards such as landslides, volcanoes and earthquakes.

A fine arts degree provides an intensive, professional exploration of fine art media. Students develop a portfolio and career plan through an emphasis in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture.

As a UD Foreign Language Education major, you'll learn the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the needs of our changing and global world — and prepare others to do the same. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to teach French, German or Spanish to students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. 

This program is designed to prepare engineers and aspiring engineers for leadership roles in engineering activities in industry, government, business and the military. In addition to our rigorous academic program, students are provided with many opportunities to work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as developing improved flame retardants, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments. Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education.
