Our B.A. in communication prepares students for professional careers in a wide range of communication fields: broadcasting, communication management, healthcare administration, journalism and public relations. As a computer engineering major, you'll design and upgrade advanced digital and computer-based systems by balancing and integrating the use of hardware components and software: a computer's central processor unit, memory devices, input/output devices and computer networks, operating systems, compilers, and general-purpose programming for specific applications.

You'll enjoy an extensive laboratory experience integrated with coursework that ensures a working knowledge of engineering fundamentals.

Upper-level courses combine academics with current technology and computational tools, which enables you to become the complete professional ready to contribute to the engineering profession after graduation by either entering the workforce or pursuing a graduate education.

Business economics is the study of the choices we make when faced with limited resources. It involves analyzing decisions made by firms and individuals, as well as government policy decisions dealing with unemployment, inflation, international trade, income distribution, government regulation, and money and banking systems.

As you study business economics, you will develop a strong foundation through core business courses such as accounting, business ethics, decision sciences, finance, management, management information systems, marketing and operations management. Additional coursework provides an integrated, multifaceted approach to the career world.

Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education. In addition to our rigourous academic program, students can work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as discovering novel inhibitors of bacterial efflux pumps as a way to combat multi-drug resistance in bacteria, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings, and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments.

The study of history provides students with important skills – including critical reading, writing and thinking – that will make them informed citizens ready to work for the common good. The study of history not only prepares students to participate in civic life, but is also a stepping stone to careers in many diverse fields.
