The M.S. in engineering science is offered in a number of emphasis areas: aeroacoustics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computational hydroscience, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electromagnetics, environmental engineering, geology, geological engineering, hydrology, mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, and telecommunications.

A M.S. in engineering science with emphasis in hydrology prepares a student with advanced technical knowledge and communication skills for pursuing a career in industry, research and development, public service, or for doctoral work.

Linguistics majors at the University of Mississippi learn the layers of intertwined systems of language (sound, meaning, organization and context) and study phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. What will you learn?
You’ll receive instruction in principles, finance, appraisal, law, land use controls, and investment analysis. You’ll learn about brokerage, lending, corporate positions, and government agencies. On graduation, you will be prepared for examinations for state real estate broker and salesperson licenses.

Forensic chemistry students at the University of Mississippi focus on analytical chemistry and biochemistry/molecular biology, with a capstone internship experience and participation in research.

The B.S. program in forensic chemistry is intended for students who seek a career in a local, state, or federal crime laboratory. This program shares many elements in common with the department's B.A. program in biochemistry and therefore provides academic preparation for students who are interested in a career in medicine, dentistry, or other health-related professions.
