Management graduates have a broad-based business education that will help them achieve career success, including financial management, logistics, information systems, operations, business strategy, economics and statistics, as well as a narrower focus on management topics such as leadership, organizational behavior, human resource management, and negotiation.

Emphasis - Human Resource Management
Successful organizations treat people as their most important asset and the effective management of human resources as central to their business strategy. In the HR management emphasis, students learn how to manage and maximize the potential of the people who work in organizations. By knowing HR practices as a business function, graduates understand how people act in a professional environment, adapt to the organization's changing needs, and advance their career.

The Risk Management and Insurance major prepares students for exciting careers in an industry that has a high demand for talent. Students at Ole Miss gain marketable skills regarding the assessment and management of risk.

What will you learn?
Risk impacts individuals, businesses, and governments across the entire world. Without risk there is no reward. The RMI curriculum focuses on commercial risk management and culminates in a capstone course where you will perform a comprehensive risk management audit of a company, write a detailed report of risk control and transfer recommendations, and present your solutions to a panel of experts. You will also find out where you fit best in the industry by working as an intern - most students earn 6 hours of academic credit for working paid summer internships. Student internships include duties ranging from designing social media strategies for insurance brokers to underwriting insurance policies.

The Master of Music is an advanced professional degree designed to develop a particular area in music to a high level of specialization. The university offers the M.M. with the following emphases:

• Performance in woodwind, brass, string, or percussion instruments, piano, and voice;
• Music education;
• Choral conducting;
• Musicology;
• Music theory;
• Ethnomusicology;
• Collaborative piano.

Forensic chemistry students at the University of Mississippi focus on analytical chemistry and biochemistry/molecular biology, with a capstone internship experience and participation in research.

The B.S. program in forensic chemistry is intended for students who seek a career in a local, state, or federal crime laboratory. The aim of the emphasis in global supply chain management is to expose students to two primary sets of processes through which the firm creates value for its customers by moving goods and information through marketing channels: demand-focused processes consisting of marketing, sales, and customer relationship management activities, and supply-focused processes consisting of inbound logistics, operations, and outbound logistics.

The General Business curriculum includes the core business subjects, an internship or study abroad opportunity, and a minor from another discipline outside the business school. This gives you the flexibility to define yourself according to your vision of the future, while grounding you in global business knowledge usable in any future you choose.

The B.A. degree in physics is suggested for students wishing to teach physics in high school or to enter graduate or professional schools, such as medical school or law school. The department also offers a special B.A. curriculum for pre-medical students, which includes physics courses that are especially useful for medical students. It is recommended that students interested in teaching high school physics obtain a B.A. physics degree and a secondary education certification.
