The M.B.A. exposes students to a variety of subjects, including statistics, economics, organizational behavior, business communication, marketing, financial strategy, operations management, and information technology management. The M.B.A. is available as either a Campus program or as a professional program. The campus M.B.A. can be taken on either a full-time or part-time basis with all courses offered in the evenings and on the Oxford Campus. The professional M.B.A. is designed for working business professionals and involves a variety of online technological delivery modes

The M.S. in sport and recreation administration provides advanced education and vocational opportunities to develop leisure service delivery skills and evaluation or research competencies for students committed to careers in leisure, sport, recreation, health, tourism, and/or research. Students choose either a 1) thesis, 2) special event planning, or 3) internship based on their education, experience, and career goals.

The master’s graduate program in the School of Journalism and New Media offers three tracks: academic, professional, and Integrated Marketing Communications.

M.A. students without academic or professional background in journalism may be required to pursue a course of study that combines undergraduate and graduate journalism courses.

There are three degrees in economics at the University of Mississippi: the Bachelor of Business Administration in economics, the Bachelor of Arts in economics, and the more technical Bachelor of Science in economics. The B.A. degree is the most flexible program that provides broad social science training. Students take introductory and advanced micro and macro economics, statistics, and then pursue their own interests with economics electives.

Economics provides a broad and systematic way of thinking about social, financial, and business problems. The B.A. in economics prepares a graduate for many positions in business and government. Some positions are economic analyst, statistician, and research assistant.

Students who complete the program in hospitality management choose among many of the job settings in the growing hospitality industry, such as restaurants and food-service operations, hotels and other lodging facilities, event companies, resorts, casinos, entertainment centers, convention centers, travel firms, and visitor bureaus.

The Ole Miss Hospitality Management program prepares students to handle a wide array of needs across the hospitality industry. Valuable hands-on experiences enables students to receive the academic foundation and practical experience needed to be successful after graduation.

The event management emphasis is designed for students seeking careers with event companies, entertainment centers, convention centers, and travel firms.

The Master of Taxation program offers graduate-level accounting education for students who plan to pursue careers in taxation. Students take five required accountancy and taxation courses, two taxation electives, two accountancy electives, and one non-accountancy elective to complete this program. While there are no required data analytics courses, students will gain knowledge of data analytics in some required coursework.

The B.A. in classics is an interdisciplinary degree involving the study of ancient Greek and Latin, literature in translation, history, classical archaeology, and art history.

Emphasis - Classical Civilization
The B.A. in classics with an emphasis in classical civilization provides students with the basics in at least one of the ancient languages (ancient Greek and Latin) and introduces them to some of the important issues and questions regarding Greek and Roman art and archaeology, history, literature, myth, philosophy, and religion. Students have found successful careers in many different professions, including law, medicine, the ministry, teaching, museum curatorship, and exhibit design.

The M.S. in biological science prepares a student for various academic, industry, or government professional positions that involve freshwater biology, medicine, education, molecular genetics, ecology and conservation biology.

A degree in Management Information Systems at Ole Miss combines traditional business courses such as Marketing, Management, and Finance with the skills to design and implement key information technology systems.

In our MIS program, you will gain the skills to create desktop and mobile applications, web pages, and databases with state-of-the-art technology. Our alumni work for industry-leading companies such as FedEx, Microsoft, and Yahoo!

The M.S. in mathematics is designed primarily for students who are attracted to mathematics as a major scholarly pursuit, including students who plan eventually to work toward the doctorate in this field. The M.S. degree also prepares students who are looking for professional careers in mathematics, either as teachers or as research mathematicians.
