The Department of Mathematics offers a B.A. in mathematics for students who wish a broad education in a mathematical field in preparation for careers in teaching or other areas.

The B.A. degree allows greater compatibility with other areas of study, and prepares students for careers such as education through a broad knowledge of different subfields of both theoretical and applied mathematics.

The Bachelor of Music curriculum prepares students to become professional musicians or vocalists, to teach music at the K-12 levels, or for graduate or professional school. Students select a concentration in instrumental, keyboard, or vocal training.

The B.M. in music is offered for students seeking a university education that includes preparation for careers in music teaching or performance. The B.M. degree is available in the following emphases: music performance and music education.

The M.S. in sport and recreation administration provides advanced education and vocational opportunities to develop leisure service delivery skills and evaluation or research competencies for students committed to careers in leisure, sport, recreation, health, tourism, and/or research.

In the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program at Ole Miss, students learn to understand, design, and develop devices and systems that operate on electric/battery power, or that generate electric power.

Electrical engineers use the physics and mathematics of electricity, electromagnetism and electronics to create, develop and test electrical equipment and systems.

With an electrical engineering degree, you will be set for a career in areas as diverse as the automotive, chemical and petroleum industries; power utilities; defense and aeronautics; and telecommunications and computers.

Emphasis - General Program
The B.S.E.E. with general emphasis provides broad training in basic and engineering sciences and fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering. The general emphasis provides greater flexibility for a student to choose 14 credit hours of technical elective courses from a breadth of electrical engineering topical areas.

Marketing students learn how to research target audiences, advise on how to develop products for consumer desires, and determine product pricing structure. Students learn to select effective channels to communicate with customers and develop and implement promotional strategies.

Marketing is a creative, fast-paced industry. Our faculty will help you get inside the mind of prospective customers so you’ll know how to promote, develop, and sell products to them. Remember, without a plan, there is no sale!

The Master of Criminal Justice (M.C.J.) promotes evidence-based policy and practice and prepares future leaders in the fields of criminal justice, emergency management, and homeland security by conducting relevant, innovative research and offering cutting-edge courses.

Emphasis - Criminal Justice Policy and Practice
The M.C.J. with emphasis in criminal justice policy and practice prepares a graduate for a variety of criminal justice and related positions.

Political science majors at the University of Mississippi conduct policy analysis and study political actors and organizations within the context of American government and politics, comparative government and politics, and international relations.
