Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

Real Estate students at the University of Mississippi develop an in-depth understanding of appraisal and real estate development, including buying, selling, and managing residential and commercial properties and land.
Buy or lease? Invest or sell? Develop an in-depth understanding of appraisals and real estate development, including buying, selling, and managing residential and commercial properties in the Ole Miss real estate program. You’ll be the link between properties and investors.
What will you learn?
You’ll receive instruction in principles, finance, appraisal, law, land use controls, and investment analysis. You’ll learn about brokerage, lending, corporate positions, and government agencies. On graduation, you will be prepared for examinations for state real estate broker and salesperson licenses.

Emphasis - Global Supply Chain Management
The aim of the emphasis in global supply chain management is to expose students to two primary sets of processes through which the firm creates value for its customers by moving goods and information through marketing channels: demand-focused processes consisting of marketing, sales, and customer relationship management activities, and supply-focused processes consisting of inbound logistics, operations, and outbound logistics.
