Overview
The Ole Miss Hospitality Management program prepares students to handle a wide array of needs across the hospitality industry. Valuable hands-on experiences enables students to receive the academic foundation and practical experience needed to be successful after graduation.
Students who complete the program in hospitality management choose among many of the job settings in the growing hospitality industry, such as restaurants and food-service operations, hotels and other lodging facilities, event companies, resorts, casinos, entertainment centers, convention centers, travel firms, and visitor bureaus.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is a road map that leads to a professional engineering degree that emphasizes the concepts needed to properly design, construct, and maintain naturally and/or physically built systems such as highways, bridges, water treatment plants & buildings.

Civil engineers use scientific knowledge and hands-on creativity to solve 21st-century problems: designing for sustainability, safely constructing the built environment, maintaining our aging infrastructure systems, and providing service worldwide to people in great need.
With a civil engineering degree, you could be involved in the design, construction or operation of many critical facilities. This could be anything from highways to high-rise buildings, from bridges to hospitals and airports – just to name a few.

Graduate Master Accelerator Pathway (1-Term) - Master of Accountancy and Data Analytics
The Master of Accountancy & Data Analytics program offers specialization in data analytics paired with broad graduate-level accounting education. In this program, students are prepared for careers in the data age as they gain hands-on experience in data analytics and cutting-edge technologies. The program requires five accountancy and taxation courses, three data analytics courses, and two accountancy electives.

Linguistics majors at the University of Mississippi learn the layers of intertwined systems of language (sound, meaning, organization and context) and study phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. They explore the relationship between language and social factors such as region, ethnicity, gender, and identity; and how language is acquired and changes over time.
