Our aerospace engineering program provides a strong foundation in engineering science and engineering design as applied to aerospace materials and structures, including their mechanical and aerodynamic characteristics and behaviors. The exercise science program prepares students for entry into a wide range of health-related, post-baccalaureate graduate and professional programs. The program features three areas of emphasis: health fitness, motor development and scientific foundations.  

Exercise science majors will have unique hands-on opportunities, including involvement in clinical and community programs that provide exercise-related services to children, teens, young adults and adults.

Through your courses, you will develop the knowledge needed to describe the relationship among physical activity, functional capacity, health and disease across the lifespan. You will also be able to demonstrate laboratory proficiency through written and practical evaluations. You will also receive your first-aid certificate through core requirements.

Design biomedical devices, conduct innovative healthcare research and solve problems using a combination of engineering and medicine.

The Master of Biomedical Engineering program builds deep technical skills through advanced coursework that uniquely combines engineering and biology. You will also learn important business skills by choosing the project management, entrepreneurship or technical track.

Biomedical engineering is an interdisciplinary program highly focused on the improvement of human health, combining the innovative skills of engineering with medical and biological sciences to improve health care from diagnostics to treatment.

As a biomedical engineering major, you will develop the ability to identify, formulate and solve open-ended problems at the interface of engineering and medicine using skills acquired in mathematics; biological, chemical and physical sciences; and engineering. You will also learn how to communicate technical material, function on a multidisciplinary team, demonstrate professional and ethical responsibility, continue along a path of lifelong learning, and recognize economic, social and global issues related to the profession.

You will enjoy courses with hands-on laboratory components as well as a senior capstone design sequence, during which you will work on problems defined by doctors or biomedical engineering industries. You will also be encouraged to get involved with research opportunities.

The Film and Media Studies program is devoted to the critical study of moving images. The program offers unique opportunities that include production collaboration with Media Arts, and engagement with the remarkable film and television archival content of Moving Image Research Collections, which has grown to an estimated 6,000 hours of material.

In this program, you'll learn how to:

• Analyze persuasively moving image media (including their sounds)
• Research histories of  about the international production, distribution and reception
• Map media industries globally and describe their functions
• Defend your own explanation of media’s power in everyday life.

As a geography major, you will take courses in computer cartography, GIS and air photo interpretation/remote sensing. You will also have ample opportunities to study the Earth’s physical features and processes and how this physical environment is modified by human activities. Students may choose to take courses that include the real-world collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of geographic data to prepare you for careers in geography.
