This professional degree provides coursework in criminal justice system operation, criminology, research methods, and statistics. In addition to providing career advancement, the program also provides rigorous social science training that prepares you for continued doctoral study, should you choose to pursue it.

Our criminal justice program promotes state-of-the-art research and instruction in subject areas that are crucial to the effective and orderly working of modern society.

You will learn theories of and responses to social deviance, law and the legal system, administration theory and evaluation, law enforcement, juvenile justice systems and procedures, and crime prevention models. You will also be able to attend numerous conferences and lectures to broaden your professional perspective.

As a criminal justice major, you will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on internship experience that will add to your educational experience. You can gain additional experience by participating in the Campus Patrol Office program, which offers students who qualify an opportunity to gain hands-on experience as an employee of the University of South Carolina Division of Law Enforcement and Safety. The University of South Carolina School of Music has established a national reputation for artistic and scholarly excellence. One of the school's newest offerings is a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in musical theatre, designed specifically for students interested in pursuing an outstanding liberal arts music degree with a specific focus on musical theatre.

Music students at South Carolina develop close working relationships with dedicated, world-class faculty members and have opportunities for collaborative learning and performing, in-depth research and travel.

At the School of Music, students benefit from our rich musical resources, including two advanced computer music studios, our extensive music library collection and our state-of-the-art recording studio. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the diverse resources throughout the university and to collaborate with artists in other fields.

As part of the process of building well-informed, flexible artists for the ever-changing industry, the musical theatre concentration immerses students in multiple performance opportunities each semester, involving both cutting-edge contemporary and classic genres of musical theatre. In lieu of a cognate or minor, students will complete 18 credit hours of dance and theatre courses, as well as Musical Theatre Workshop each semester. Students will participate in exciting offerings each year, including guest master classes with musical theatre professionals, collaborations with organizations and fully staged showcase performances each semester.

As a geological sciences major, laboratory experience and field-based activities will enhance the vibrant and friendly academic environment. You will focus on the study of the Earth's dynamics and history, as well as its composition and the chemical, physical and biological changes that it undergoes. You can also choose to pursue a concentration in environmental geosciences.

The department offers a broad range of specialties within geosciences such as sedimentology, stratigraphy and basin evolution; tectonics and structural geology; environmental geology and hydrogeology; igneous and metamorphic petrology; geophysics and seismology; oceanography, coastal and estuarine processes; paleoecology; and paleoclimatology.

You will also have the unique opportunity to complete a four-week field course in Colorado to get valuable hands-on experience. This opportunity synergizes your education in geology to understanding the Earth's formation in an observational setting.

Someone has to decide what those screens look like ... what they mean. Someone has to make them relevant. Someone needs to make them beautiful.

Whether you're interested in filmmaking, game design, animation, internet art, manga, mobile media or worlds beyond, a degree in media arts at South Carolina will prepare you to be a creator in tomorrow's media landscape. Our facilities and equipment are professional-level, and our curriculum is both practical and intellectually challenging. Our dance program has a 30-year history of excellence. The program attracts a cosmopolitan enrollment of students from across the country and abroad and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance.

The Bachelor of Arts in Dance offers two concentrations (performance and choreography or dance education), and all students are required to actively participate in departmental productions.

The program is known for offering rigorous technical training while also providing opportunities for broad-based study in dance and beyond. Experience a world-class repertory, including historical dance works by George Balanchine, Martha Graham, Twyla Tharp, David Parsons, Lila York and Lynne Taylor Corbett, as well as original works by our eminent faculty. You will be exposed to dance techniques that include classical ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, musical theater and world dance.

Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree program. The degree program is individually designed by each student along with a committee of at least four faculty members from the student's areas of interest.

Bachelor of Arts students tend to focus within the humanities, social sciences and fine arts. Fields of study might include Southern studies, Middle Eastern studies, performance arts management, environmental studies or linguistics.

As an international business major, you will develop leading-edge knowledge concerning the practice of global business.  

The department emphasizes the understanding of cross-border relationships — both within the same organization and across multiple organizations — comprising the modern multinational enterprise, as well as the institutional, financial, sociocultural and sociopolitical contexts surrounding the enterprise. International business majors have the opportunity to concentrate on business in Chinese enterprise, the Middle East and North Africa, Latin America or Central Europe.
