Political science seeks to understand, to explain, and — sometimes — to evaluate how humans live and work together in public ways. To do so, political scientists focus on what happens in and around government and politics, how humans cooperate with and how they fight against one another, why some nations succeed and others fail.

Political scientists study voting and revolutions, the Supreme Court and the United Nations, the idea of justice and the nature of power, environmental policy, criminal law and gender politics - all in the pursuit of clearer knowledge about the characteristic ways humans interact in the public sphere.

The mission of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology is to prepare reflective speech-language pathologists and audiologists for lifelong success by providing an excellent student-centered experiential learning environment. Our students are mentored in developing leadership, critical thinking skills, and a strong commitment to their profession and society. These efforts are assisted by the department's commitment to professional growth through clinical practice, scholarly activity, and service to the profession and the community. The programs are developed in accordance with state and national accreditation standards and guidelines to ensure that graduates provide exemplary professional practice throughout their careers.

Pacific's Master of Accounting (MAcc) program is designed to prepare students for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) under California's new education rules. Offered on Pacific's beautiful Stockton campus, the program can be completed in as little as 2 semesters for those with an undergraduate degree in accounting, or 3-4 semesters for those with a degree in a different field.

90% of MAcc program graduates accept an offer in the field within six months of graduation, including the Big Four (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, & PwC), as well as large multi-state, regional, and local CPA firms. Students benefit from the customized career services offered by the Eberhardt Career Management Center, including individual counseling, resume review, networking opportunities, and more.

Pacific's Master of Science in Finance program offers the perfect blend of finance theory and application. With a $3.5 million student-run investment fund, our STEM-designated program offers students the unique opportunity to manage a large equity portfolio using state of the art tools of the industry. In just one year, our program prepares students for the CFA certification and is offered in-person and online simultaneously using a hyflex modality providing flexibility for working professionals.

Music Industry Studies degree at University of the Pacific is the first collegiate program of its kind in the region. Electrical engineering is a broad field that encompasses a wide range of topics such as communication systems, automatic control systems, energy conversion, digital signal processing and integrated circuits. Students pursuing an electrical engineering degree are taught fundamentals that allow them to understand their area of concentration as well as grasp general engineering concepts. This broad understanding of engineering allows electrical engineers to communicate their ideas to others in their field and adapt to rapidly changing technology.
