Music Industry Studies degree at University of the Pacific is the first collegiate program of its kind in the region. It merges practice with theory along with intensive, hands-on training and internships to give students the knowledge and resilience to succeed in the fast-paced environment of the music industry. It was designed to prepare you for success in a variety of 21st century music careers. We challenge students to study the religious practices, beliefs, institutions, and texts of ancient and modern societies. Through these studies, students learn about the religious phenomena that have shaped human civilizations. In addition to deep knowledge of this religious and cultural activity, our students acquire intellectual skills that serve them throughout their educational endeavors and beyond. Religion has historically shaped and continues to influence cultures and institutions worldwide. It is useful to explore spiritual traditions in order to examine ultimate religious and ethical questions.

A typical course in the department includes students from various backgrounds and academic disciplines, and it affords significant opportunity for provocative interdisciplinary discussion.

The international relations major is designed for students interested in global and international studies. The new Master of Science in Computer Science degree program is built on a 96-year foundation of engineering and computer science at University of the Pacific. The one to two-year program, taught at the iconic ivy-covered campus in Stockton, California, teaches students advanced techniques and best practices of professional research and establishes the intellectual foundations for achieving excellence in the field of computer science. Graduates of the degree program will be prepared to create new technologies and enhance existing systems with a curriculum that dives into machine learning, data science, virtual reality, and more. Pacific offers the only actuarial science program in northern California. In it, you have the opportunity to develop the skills expected of entry-level actuaries, equipping you with the tools to help companies and businesses better anticipate and manage risk.

As an economics major or minor, you will be taught how to conceptualize your own roles in society, whether acting as an individual, a member of a private-sector firm or as a public servant in the government sector. You will learn how to apply theoretical understanding and analytical skills to a wide variety of issues, problems and policies.
