The Bachelor of Arts in Music is designed to help you connect music to the liberal arts and sciences. It provides a breadth of study that can serve as excellent preparation for graduate study in music. Its adaptability can also serve students with professional flexibility via a broad choice of electives to design a curriculum for a unique degree path or career. The music portion of this degree is quite similar to the Bachelor of Music requirements in the first year, allowing you for exploration of these options or electives while still progressing toward graduation. An independent capstone project allows you to further a particular musical interest or to combine musical and non-musical research.

The Department of English is an active and thriving community, where students meet respected professionals who are using their own English degrees in innovative and exciting ways, and gain hands-on publishing experience by working on Pacific's nationally-recognized, award-winning literary magazine, Calliope. Pacific's broad-based professional art program is intended to provide you with options in the art ?eld and provides strong foundational and interdisciplinary education so you can develop a professional-level portfolio.

Our program helps you develop esthetic knowledge, perceptual awareness and creative problem solving skills. The goal is that when you graduate, you will be a practicing artist or designer who thinks critically and historically, communicates effectively and acts responsibly in our global society.

With a BFA with a Concentration in Graphic Design, you will develop your artistic talent to build a rewarding career in print, digital or a mix of both. Our program gives you many opportunities to gain hands-on experience doing real-world projects in business and nonprofit settings through Pacific's connections in northern California.

We challenge students to study the religious practices, beliefs, institutions, and texts of ancient and modern societies. Through these studies, students learn about the religious phenomena that have shaped human civilizations. In addition to deep knowledge of this religious and cultural activity, our students acquire intellectual skills that serve them throughout their educational endeavors and beyond. Religion has historically shaped and continues to influence cultures and institutions worldwide. It is useful to explore spiritual traditions in order to examine ultimate religious and ethical questions.

A typical course in the department includes students from various backgrounds and academic disciplines, and it affords significant opportunity for provocative interdisciplinary discussion.

Music Management degree at University of the Pacific prepares students for a wide variety of music careers where knowledge and understanding of music performance, repertoire, styles and history are valuable assets. Our department takes a broad view of the Earth and offers courses that develop a scientific understanding of our planet, its history, natural systems, resources and recent global change. We offer rigorous degree programs in Geology and Environmental Science that will prepare you for successful careers. Students in our department are immersed in experiences driven by our hands-on approach to learning.

We build outdoor experiences into every class and facilitate abundant domestic and international travel opportunities. While many of these trips explore fascinating locations throughout California, we also offer trips that explore a much broader range of locations around our world. Our majors travel to a range of regional and international destinations, including Scotland, the Chilean Patagonia, Hawaii, the Colorado plateau, and a variety of locations throughout the west coast of North America. Many of our majors work closely with faculty on award-winning research projects that can take students to exotic geologic locales, including western Ireland, Japan, the ancient Appalachian Mountains of upstate New York, the Marshall Islands and the high Sierra Nevada.

University of the Pacific’s engineering management program prepares students for leadership roles in today’s global workforce as engineers, managers and educators. Program graduates are prepared to pursue advanced-level studies or enter professional practice in a wide array of different industries, positions and projects.

The engineering management program is designed to provide students flexibility while providing a curriculum that integrates project and system engineering courses with courses within concentration areas; such as, civil or mechanical engineering. Alongside a faculty advisor, students develop a plan of study based on their goals. With 30% of the curriculum being electives, this major is a gateway to many career paths and opportunities.

The BS Biochemistry program follows national guidelines and is aligned with pre-requisites for professional schools. In order to earn the bachelor of science degree with a major in chemistry, students must complete a minimum of 120 units with a Pacific cumulative and major/program grade point average of 2.0.
