The new Master of Science in Computer Science degree program is built on a 96-year foundation of engineering and computer science at University of the Pacific. The one to two-year program, taught at the iconic ivy-covered campus in Stockton, California, teaches students advanced techniques and best practices of professional research and establishes the intellectual foundations for achieving excellence in the field of computer science. Graduates of the degree program will be prepared to create new technologies and enhance existing systems with a curriculum that dives into machine learning, data science, virtual reality, and more. Music composition at University of the Pacific is a fully immersive and broad major which will position you well to navigate this ever-evolving field of music. You will spend extensive time writing works for a variety of ensembles, learning a broad range of compositional techniques and honing your own compositional voice. You will compose for solo instruments, small ensembles, voice, chorus, percussion, digital media and larger musical forces such as orchestra and band. Specialized studies in orchestration, contemporary performance techniques, electronic music and film scoring will add crucial skills to your creative tool kit.

The organizational leadership degree completion program aims to help students develop a basic understanding of the theories of leadership  and how to best implement changes in order to guide successful organizations. Courses cover topics such as leadership development, project management, communication, public relations, conflict management and social psychology.

With a major in Business Analytics, you will learn topics about data management, data analysis theories and methods, and advanced analytics tools. You will solve hands-on business problems in the Business Analytics laboratory. You will also be encouraged to select a focus area (accounting, finance, marketing, management, etc.) to conduct in-depth or industry-specific analysis.

Business Analytics is an exciting interdisciplinary field that addresses how information technology can be used to help organizations in our increasingly data-rich world. The business analytics curriculum at the Eberhardt School of Business (ESB) focuses on both tools and methodologies. It combines theory and applications with real-world projects and industry data.

At a moment when our society is reckoning with systemic racism, sexual harassment and growing inequality, sociology has never been more relevant. Whether you're interested in social work, criminal justice, public policy, youth mentoring, or community development, we have a place and a pathway for you.

At Pacific, you will have the opportunity to learn through experience by interning or working with professional sociologists. That gives our program an added dimension that many larger programs do not provide. From jet engines to medical devices, mechanical engineers build products that support society.

The School of Engineering and Computer Science (SOECS) also offers a master’s degree in engineering science with a concentration in mechanical engineering. Through our blended program, students can begin graduate course work during their senior year at Pacific and complete their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years.

The chemistry program offers a variety of exciting and future-oriented research topics, from organic synthesis, biochemistry, theoretical chemistry to physical chemistry and spectroscopy. The civil engineering program is recognized for its practical curriculum, high academic standards and student-centered emphasis. In addition to the CO-OP experience, students have opportunities to participate in competitions and hands-on projects as part of their studies.
