The organizational leadership degree completion program aims to help students develop a basic understanding of the theories of leadership  and how to best implement changes in order to guide successful organizations. Courses cover topics such as leadership development, project management, communication, public relations, conflict management and social psychology.

In Pacific's new concentration in criminal justice, you can prepare for a career in law enforcement, the courts or corrections system. Opportunities in criminal justice are wide-ranging and provide fulfilling ways to serve your community.

With the criminal justice concentration, you can choose to major in political science or sociology. Either way, you can:

• Take advantage of Pacific's strong public policy and law programs
• Connect with Pacific's ties to northern California's legal community and government agencies
• Make an easy transition to Pacific's McGeorge School of Law or the new Master in Social Work program, if you wish
• Work as a change-maker in the criminal justice system

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting is a four-year degree that includes study of all functional areas of accounting including financial, managerial, cost, federal income tax accounting, accounting information systems, and auditing. Graduates of the program are fully prepared to enter accounting careers in the corporate, governmental, and not-for-profit areas. The program consists of 128 hours of coursework, and positions those graduates who desire licensure as Certified Public Accountants to continue their studies.

In addition to the general education courses required by the University, the Bachelor of Science in Accounting curriculum requires a set of preprofessional skills courses in the areas of communication, mathematics and economics. Many of these courses also satisfy certain general education requirements. Students also progress through a series of courses in core business areas such as accounting, management, marketing and finance. In their junior year, students begin their intermediate accounting studies, and end the program with a series of advanced accounting courses including auditing, advanced financial accounting, cost accounting, and income tax accounting.

Civil engineering encompasses the structures and systems of a functioning society. From the water people drink to the roads they travel on, the work of civil engineers serves and benefits society every day.

The civil engineering program is recognized for its practical curriculum, high academic standards and student-centered emphasis. In addition to the CO-OP experience, students have opportunities to participate in competitions and hands-on projects as part of their studies.

Graduates of Pacific’s civil engineering program have the knowledge, skills and qualities necessary to pursue professional licensure and advanced level studies, practice engineering, and lead in the profession and in their communities.

The Social Sciences major is an interdisciplinary program that provides training in History, Political Science, Sociology, Economics and Geography. Social Sciences students learn both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in their exploration of human society. Graduates may pursue careers such as business administration, government, law, law enforcement, human resources, and public policy. The major is also designed for students interested in high school teaching and coaching. The major is aligned with the Social Science subject matter exam on the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET). Prospective teachers must earn a passing score on the the Social Sciences CSET exam to be certified as teachers.

This major appeals to students with a broad range of interests. Students completing the Social Sciences major in the College of the Pacific may also concurrently complete the Single Subject Credential through the Benerd School of Education. The major requires a minimum of 45 semester units, detailed below. The goal of the health, exercise and sport sciences program is to examine how movement-based physical activities, exercise and sport contribute to the quality of human life. We do this from a wide range of perspectives including biology, chemistry, psychology, sociology, business, education and philosophy to ensure that you are able to conceptualize and analyze health and human movement in a holistic manner.

If you're good at mathematics and interested in business, a career in actuarial science is a path to consider.

Actuaries analyze data and assess risk. They are most often associated with the insurance industry, but actuaries work in many kinds of businesses. The profession is consistently one of the most secure and highest-paying available, even during tough economic times.

Pacific offers the only actuarial science program in northern California. In it, you have the opportunity to develop the skills expected of entry-level actuaries, equipping you with the tools to help companies and businesses better anticipate and manage risk.

When you earn a chemistry degree at Pacific, you will build skills to give you confidence and a competitive edge as you enter the workplace or pursue graduate degrees. Unlike many other universities, Pacific offers undergraduates the opportunity to conduct hands-on research. You can work alongside faculty whose labs are contributing to treatments for diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's.

The new Master of Science in Computer Science degree program is built on a 96-year foundation of engineering and computer science at University of the Pacific. The one to two-year program, taught at the iconic ivy-covered campus in Stockton, California, teaches students advanced techniques and best practices of professional research and establishes the intellectual foundations for achieving excellence in the field of computer science.
