The international relations major is designed for students interested in global and international studies. The School of International Studies combines the resources of a comprehensive university and experiential learning with a rigorous international, interdisciplinary and intercultural curriculum designed to prepare you for success in global professions in government, industry, education and nonprofit organizations.

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting is a four-year degree that includes study of all functional areas of accounting including financial, managerial, cost, federal income tax accounting, accounting information systems, and auditing. Graduates of the program are fully prepared to enter accounting careers in the corporate, governmental, and not-for-profit areas. The program consists of 128 hours of coursework, and positions those graduates who desire licensure as Certified Public Accountants to continue their studies.

In addition to the general education courses required by the University, the Bachelor of Science in Accounting curriculum requires a set of preprofessional skills courses in the areas of communication, mathematics and economics. Many of these courses also satisfy certain general education requirements. Students also progress through a series of courses in core business areas such as accounting, management, marketing and finance. In their junior year, students begin their intermediate accounting studies, and end the program with a series of advanced accounting courses including auditing, advanced financial accounting, cost accounting, and income tax accounting.

We challenge students to study the religious practices, beliefs, institutions, and texts of ancient and modern societies. Through these studies, students learn about the religious phenomena that have shaped human civilizations. In addition to deep knowledge of this religious and cultural activity, our students acquire intellectual skills that serve them throughout their educational endeavors and beyond. Religion has historically shaped and continues to influence cultures and institutions worldwide. It is useful to explore spiritual traditions in order to examine ultimate religious and ethical questions.

A typical course in the department includes students from various backgrounds and academic disciplines, and it affords significant opportunity for provocative interdisciplinary discussion.

The new Master of Science in Computer Science degree program is built on a 96-year foundation of engineering and computer science at University of the Pacific. The one to two-year program, taught at the iconic ivy-covered campus in Stockton, California, teaches students advanced techniques and best practices of professional research and establishes the intellectual foundations for achieving excellence in the field of computer science. Graduates of the degree program will be prepared to create new technologies and enhance existing systems with a curriculum that dives into machine learning, data science, virtual reality, and more. Students interested in a liberal arts education may satisfy a desire for a better understanding of themselves and others through a major in psychology. The Department of Psychology is a large, thriving community where students are exposed to several fascinating areas of study including behavioral, biological, clinical, cognitive, developmental and social psychology. The diversity of course, fieldwork and internship offerings provides students with opportunities to study and have first-hand experience with a wide range of human behaviors and problems.

If you're good at mathematics and interested in business, a career in actuarial science is a path to consider.

Actuaries analyze data and assess risk. They are most often associated with the insurance industry, but actuaries work in many kinds of businesses. The profession is consistently one of the most secure and highest-paying available, even during tough economic times.

Pacific offers the only actuarial science program in northern California. In it, you have the opportunity to develop the skills expected of entry-level actuaries, equipping you with the tools to help companies and businesses better anticipate and manage risk.

That's pretty broad, but so is a physics degree. Physics majors of course most often go into scientific or technical fields (like optics, superconductivity, nanotechnology, new energy methods, etc.), but it is a very flexible degree. Physics majors go on to careers in biology, law, financial firms, teaching, and other areas — basically anywhere there are difficult problems to solve.

Mechanical engineering majors are part of a dynamic field of study that engages students in a diverse range of activities including machine design and analysis, product development, environmental control, robotics and manufacturing. Pacific students are provided the broad technical knowledge and practical experience necessary to thrive in their careers and postgraduate studies.

In their profession, mechanical engineers understand form and function and know materials like the back of their hand. Their skills and vision transform concepts into tangible products that follow the principles of functional design. From jet engines to medical devices, mechanical engineers build products that support society.

The School of Engineering and Computer Science (SOECS) also offers a master’s degree in engineering science with a concentration in mechanical engineering. Through our blended program, students can begin graduate course work during their senior year at Pacific and complete their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years.
