The Master of Science in Engineering Science (MSES) program is designed to strengthen students' technical, analytical, and professional breadth and depth. Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) in Fall 2021. Open to students with a bachelor’s degree in any major, this unique 9-month plus internship program allows entry-level students to gain experience in the field using the vast industry network of the Eberhardt Career Management Center. The hybrid program blends online learning with on-campus evening classes at Pacific’s Stockton campus. With a curriculum built to align with the International Institute of Business Analytics standards, students will gain the essential skills and knowledge required to be successful leaders of data-informed business strategy.

We challenge students to study the religious practices, beliefs, institutions, and texts of ancient and modern societies. Through these studies, students learn about the religious phenomena that have shaped human civilizations. In addition to deep knowledge of this religious and cultural activity, our students acquire intellectual skills that serve them throughout their educational endeavors and beyond. Religion has historically shaped and continues to influence cultures and institutions worldwide. It is useful to explore spiritual traditions in order to examine ultimate religious and ethical questions.

A typical course in the department includes students from various backgrounds and academic disciplines, and it affords significant opportunity for provocative interdisciplinary discussion.

Students will graduate with the ability to reflect upon, appreciate, and be open to criticism, practices, beliefs, and institutions of other cultures as well as their own. Through this exposure, students come to better understand the world, themselves, and their place in the world.

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting is a four-year degree that includes study of all functional areas of accounting including financial, managerial, cost, federal income tax accounting, accounting information systems, and auditing. Graduates of the program are fully prepared to enter accounting careers in the corporate, governmental, and not-for-profit areas. The program consists of 128 hours of coursework, and positions those graduates who desire licensure as Certified Public Accountants to continue their studies.

In addition to the general education courses required by the University, the Bachelor of Science in Accounting curriculum requires a set of preprofessional skills courses in the areas of communication, mathematics and economics. Many of these courses also satisfy certain general education requirements. Students also progress through a series of courses in core business areas such as accounting, management, marketing and finance. In their junior year, students begin their intermediate accounting studies, and end the program with a series of advanced accounting courses including auditing, advanced financial accounting, cost accounting, and income tax accounting.

Music Industry Studies degree at University of the Pacific is the first collegiate program of its kind in the region. It merges practice with theory along with intensive, hands-on training and internships to give students the knowledge and resilience to succeed in the fast-paced environment of the music industry. It was designed to prepare you for success in a variety of 21st century music careers. Plus, you will have access to a host of alumni and music industry executives who know the skills and characteristics they are seeking in future employees.

The Social Sciences major is an interdisciplinary program that provides training in History, Political Science, Sociology, Economics and Geography. Social Sciences students learn both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in their exploration of human society. Graduates may pursue careers such as business administration, government, law, law enforcement, human resources, and public policy. The major is also designed for students interested in high school teaching and coaching. The major is aligned with the Social Science subject matter exam on the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET). Prospective teachers must earn a passing score on the the Social Sciences CSET exam to be certified as teachers.

This major appeals to students with a broad range of interests. Students completing the Social Sciences major in the College of the Pacific may also concurrently complete the Single Subject Credential through the Benerd School of Education. The major requires a minimum of 45 semester units, detailed below. If you want to protect society, explore the Earth, understand the environment, work in your community or around the world, you belong in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences. Our department takes a broad view of the Earth and offers courses that develop a scientific understanding of our planet, its history, natural systems, resources and recent global change. We offer rigorous degree programs in Geology and Environmental Science that will prepare you for successful careers. Students in our department are immersed in experiences driven by our hands-on approach to learning.

We build outdoor experiences into every class and facilitate abundant domestic and international travel opportunities. While many of these trips explore fascinating locations throughout California, we also offer trips that explore a much broader range of locations around our world. Our majors travel to a range of regional and international destinations, including Scotland, the Chilean Patagonia, Hawaii, the Colorado plateau, and a variety of locations throughout the west coast of North America. Many of our majors work closely with faculty on award-winning research projects that can take students to exotic geologic locales, including western Ireland, Japan, the ancient Appalachian Mountains of upstate New York, the Marshall Islands and the high Sierra Nevada.

Computer science majors are part of a constantly evolving field that has virtually unlimited growth. From programming technology for major companies to creating video games that are played by millions, computer scientists build and maintain complex technological systems used throughout society.

Pacific’s computer science program offers three concentrations, which define a focused set of upper-division elective courses:

• Graphics and simulation
• Networking and computer security
• Software development.

All three concentrations are built upon a foundation of math, science and engineering that prepares students to be successful and adaptable as new technologies emerge.
