Program Educational Objectives

The following statements describe the career and professional accomplishments that the BS Mechanical Engineering program is preparing graduates to achieve within a few years of graduation:

• Professional careers in Mechanical Engineering or other disciplines utilizing the knowledge and problem-solving skills they developed in the SNHU Mechanical Engineering program;
• Increasing responsibility in technical and/or management areas;

• Increasing discernment and sensitivity in the consideration of global and societal contexts and consequences when making engineering decisions;

Delves into the three major areas of business analytics: descriptive analytics, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics. You’ll learn how to collect and interpret business data in a spreadsheet environment, communicate findings to stakeholders and execute strategic business decisions. Upon completion of this specialty track, you’ll develop skills that can help prepare you for roles as a management analyst, operations research analyst and budget analyst.

SNHU's Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology challenges students to apply their research skills, psychological knowledge, and critical thinking abilities to a variety of issues facing the legal system. This concentration helps prepare students for careers within the criminal justice field, in areas such as psychological assessment, investigative research, and crime analytics. Students wishing to become forensic psychologists would need to continue on to graduate-level study in forensic psychology, and this concentration provides the ideal curriculum for this pursuit.

The Master of Business (MBA) program is designed for professionals seeking the tools, knowledge, and analytical skills needed for effective business analysis, decision making, and management in a wide variety of industries and organizations.

Foundational coursework may be required for those with an undergraduate degree in a non-business discipline.  A bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher is required.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration concentration in Accounting provides students with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in financial accounting practices, preparing students to assess an organization’s financial performance and support stakeholders in decision-making. Students complete the accounting cycle, prepare complex financial statements, identify and correct financial reporting issues, create budgets, and conduct ratio analyses to assess financial information.    

The BA in English with a concentration in Professional Writing is designed for students interested in technical writing, editing, publishing and web-based careers such as social media editing, copy editing and web development. During a time when branding is on the rise and companies are looking for talented writers to tell their stories, having this concentration in your toolkit could be useful in the job market.

Additionally, this program can also help improve and deepen your interactions between people, regions and countries. The skills that you’ll acquire in our program are not only essential for politics and global affairs professionals, but can be easily transferred whether you choose to pursue a graduate degree or an entirely different path altogether.

Our program stands out from those at other four-year institutions of higher education in that we put students in a position to start engaging in professional activities while they learn. Students are encouraged to participate in field experiences at mental health clinics and social service agencies, publish in Psychological journals and books, present professional papers, administer psychological tests, simulate therapy sessions and/or lead student organizations. Our program includes faculty who have won teaching awards and published books and journal articles.

We offer specific concentration areas including child/adolescent development, forensic psychology and mental health. Students also enjoy a variety of extracurricular opportunities. We have a Psychology Student Association and an honors association, Psi Chi. Alumni have attended graduate school or continued on to work (after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree) in such areas such as mental health clinics, social service agencies and human resources.

Gain a full understanding of the role that wildlife plays in a stable environment and ecosystem, as well as the important role that humans play in conservation. A Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in Wildlife and Conservation Biology will provide students with a specific, specialized understanding of the many ways that animals influence the world around them, while underlining the importance of conservation. Students will graduate with a firm grasp on the biological sciences.

In addition, students are able to tailor the concentration to align with their specific interests. With courses in ornithology, zoology, botany, animal behavior, and conservation biology, students will have the opportunity to gain a well-rounded understanding of the field or focus on the aspects of the concentration that interest them.
