Art History Research and Internships

• Build a thorough portfolio of skills and knowledge that will prepare you for a career in the art world, as well as graduate school in art history, visual resources curating and management, other art-related graduate programs, and museum studies. Film Studies

• Take advantage of the option to fulfill your art history requirements with coursework in Film Studies. Critical studies courses on film history, theory, criticism, and contemporary film topics can accompany video production courses or other hands-on learning and creative output projects.

Honors Program in Art History

• An Honors Program in Art History allows declared Art History majors who have excelled in at least their first 12 credits of Art History coursework to pursue an advanced program of study and independent research. The Honors program will prepare you for pursuing in-depth graduate work in art history, art conservation, museum studies, or film studies.

Public Economics and Finance
Manage the complex finances of public, nonprofit or healthcare organizations or become a policy or financial analyst in a policy research settings inside and outside government. Many top public and nonprofit managers began their careers in budgeting or finance. Training in finance and public economics can provide you with the skills you need for a successful career as a financial analyst, manager, or policy analyst.

Rockefeller’s Public Economics and Financial Management concentration will increase your understanding of:

• Government policy through the lens of economic efficiency and equity
• Analysis and design of public policy and how it relates to economics and finance
• The processes and analytical techniques involved in developing and managing public budgets
• Major government programs and examination from a theoretical and empirical viewpoint

You may pursue either or both sub-concentrations: Financial Management or Public Economics or work with your advisor to design your own.

The bachelor’s in business administration program at UAlbany will increase your understanding of fundamental business concepts and provide you with practical skills in your chosen area of concentration.

Available concentrations include the financial analyst honors program, information systems and business analytics, and marketing. Many combined concentrations are also offered, including entrepreneurship and management.

Discover the ways information technology and data management systems impact organizational strategy and how they can be used to solve business problems.

This concentration area provides you with skills in predictive analytics and teaches you how to develop business and accounting applications using relational database tools and domain-specific programming languages such as Structured Query Language (SQL).

You may either concentrate solely in information systems and business analytics or in one of the combined areas of study listed below.

Complete required and elective courses across multiple mathematical domains, concentrating on four major subject areas – algebra, analysis, geometry and topology, and probability and statistics. In an era characterized by the proliferation of information, the role of the school librarian is more important than ever. School librarians teach students, teachers and community members how to find and use reliable information, how to be responsible and responsive digital citizens, and how to be both consumers and producers of information.

ISSL’s curriculum combines various disciplines to prepare 21st-century school librarians including: library and information science, education, cognitive science, instructional technology and design, psychology and sociology. The program is aligned to the National School Library Standards and is one of the first school library graduate programs to offer a makerspace course.

Our fully online program is purposefully designed to prepare candidates to be information professionals and leaders as teacher/librarians in New York State and across the nation. We integrate learning experiences throughout the program that enable students to document evidence of their practice on student learning. Thus, in addition to mastering information literacy and technology competencies, our graduates are assessment literate.
