The MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program at the University at Albany is designed to educate the next generation of professionals and innovators. The master’s program provides a high degree of specialization in one of three technical concentration areas: signal processing and communications, electronic circuits and systems, and control and computing systems.

UAlbany ECE students may choose to study full-time or part-time; and can select either a thesis option that includes a multiple-semester research experience or a non-thesis option with a one-semester project or project course. No matter the path taken, earning an MS in ECE is a stepping stone to career advancement or further study.

Study the social, political, economic, and cultural forces that influence definitions of crime, explain offending and crime rates, sway societal reactions, influence policy, and shape the criminal justice system. In your first year, you learn fundamental concepts in finance, accounting, marketing, operations, human resource management, organizational behavior, and information technology. You will also travel abroad and participate in an international consulting project.

During your second year, you work closely with research faculty and regional business leaders as you develop leading edge knowledge and practical skills in your concentration area through hands-on experiences in real business settings.

Concentration options include cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource information systems, information systems and business analysis, and marketing.

Human Resource Information Systems
UAlbany offers the only human resource information systems concentration in the nation that is dually accredited by both the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and AACSB.

This concentration enables you to become a competent and technically skilled human resource manager and teaches you how to use technology to achieve greater business efficiency and increase workforce performance.

Topics include recruiting, selection, performance management, compensation and benefits, enterprise resource planning, cloud computing, social networking, and human resource information systems and software applications that support recruitment, benefits administration, and employee management.

The BA in Anthropology program features four subfields covering archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistics. The electives that are offered will help you to focus your passions within a subfield in areas like ancient languages, symbology, physiology, religion, and native cultures. A faculty advisor will guide you to tailor your curriculum to your career goals.

A minimum of 36 credits in anthropology are required, including:

• Senior Seminar in Anthropology
• Of the 21 additional credits in anthropology, no more than 6 may be at the 100 level and at least 12 must be at the 300 level or above.

Learn about a range of third sector entities, including those in human services, arts, social change, environmental advocacy and protection, and international development through course readings, case studies, guest lectures, and service-learning opportunities.

Analyze and design message strategies for face-to-face interaction, organizations, politics and health. A Master of Arts in Communication from the University at Albany will sharpen your skills as a researcher, problem solver and collaborator, while empowering you to pursue specific interests aligned with your career goals.
