Film Studies

• Take advantage of the option to fulfill your art history requirements with coursework in Film Studies. Critical studies courses on film history, theory, criticism, and contemporary film topics can accompany video production courses or other hands-on learning and creative output projects.

Honors Program in Art History

• An Honors Program in Art History allows declared Art History majors who have excelled in at least their first 12 credits of Art History coursework to pursue an advanced program of study and independent research. The Honors program will prepare you for pursuing in-depth graduate work in art history, art conservation, museum studies, or film studies.

Pursue a meaningful career on the front lines of social change in human services and government agencies, and with nonprofit community groups.

Local Government
Everything you need to know about local government will be offered in this concentration. From urban planning to public finance, and from community organizing to motivating public and non-profit workers. This concentration is ideal if you're interested in becoming a mayor, county manager, or other local government official.

Learn the language spoken by more than 520 million people worldwide by earning a BA in Spanish from the University at Albany.

Acquire the skills necessary to communicate bilingually, an invaluable skill for careers in business, government, education, tourism and social service.

Take a selection of core courses, as well as electives and classes in a concentrated area, which includes a capstone. Explore the program's two different areas of specialization:

• Spanish language, linguistics and teaching
• Hispanic literature and culture

You are encouraged to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country to enhance your fluency in the language. Fulfill major requirements by taking Spanish language, literature or culture courses during the summer in Spanish America and Spain. The Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program at the University at Albany is one of the few programs in the country that provides a solid foundation in both electrical engineering and computer engineering – while also allowing you to customize your degree to meet your interests and career goals.

The Master of Public Health (MPH) provides you with a strong foundation in primary public health fields and advanced knowledge in your area of interest. Concentration options include biomedical sciences, biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health policy and management, and social behavior and community health.

Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, the two-year MPH program includes professional internships that let you directly contribute to the success of public programs that aim to eradicate disease, develop vaccines, reduce infant mortality, ensure food safety, monitor water quality, and more.

Epidemiology
Prepare for a career in epidemiology by learning about practices such as surveillance, etiology, and prevention and intervention program evaluation. Gain experience collecting, interpreting, and managing epidemiologic data; selecting study populations; and reporting the results of epidemiological research.

You will have the ability to develop basic science skills and gather knowledge about our environment as well as dive deeper into the policies effecting climate change, air quality, and overall life on planet Earth.

Law and Civil Rights
Law and policy go hand in hand. This concentration prepares future lawyers and policy makers. By pursuing studies in this area, you will learn how policy impacts civil rights and how civil rights movements influence laws and public policy.

Launch your career as an information technology security analyst, cyber defense manager, or forensic examiner in the private or public sector. 

UAlbany’s master’s in digital forensics and cybersecurity will teach you how to rapidly detect and deter malicious network intruders and use special forensics tools to gather and analyze digital evidence.

Digital Forensics Track
This track covers computer hardware systems and file formats; forensic operations and quality standards, mobile devices and internet of things systems, memory collection and preservation techniques, data analysis, and forensic tool testing and validation.

By the end of the program, you’ll know how to extract data from digital devices, accurately analyze data to support criminal investigations, sanitize data for privacy protection, and protect systems against threats.
