The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program is a combined major and minor sequence. You can follow one of three tracks:

• General Chemistry
• Chemical Biology
• Forensic Chemistry

Each of these tracks features an honors program option. The chemistry curricula is designed according to American Chemical Society standards, which means you'll study two semesters of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry, along with formal laboratory experience.

Law and Civil Rights
Law and policy go hand in hand. This concentration prepares future lawyers and policy makers. By pursuing studies in this area, you will learn how policy impacts civil rights and how civil rights movements influence laws and public policy.

 American Politics
Learn about American political institutions including the presidency, Congress, courts, state and local government, and political parties; as well as political processes like elections, public opinion, urban politics, minority politics, political behavior, and public policy formation. This concentration is ideal if you're interested in health and education policy.  Courses and topics in this concentration include genetic makeup, primary and secondary education policy and management, peer-education, and learning. Heavily influenced by the courses from psychology, education, and sociology, this concentration offers depth and breadth of content.

Explore topics in arts, humanities and the social sciences in the master’s in liberal studies program at UAlbany. Your elective selections will span at least two university departments and may examine diverse topics such as literary and cultural theory, gender, race and ethnicity, postcolonial studies, human rights, politics and law.
