Child and Family Studies
The Child and Family Studies (CFS) program at Baylor University focuses on the development of individuals and families as they grow and change. The Business for Secondary Education major (designated as a pre-major) is a Bachelor of Business Administration degree designed for students planning to teach business courses at the high school level. Coursework is a combination of the fundamentals of business and education courses. Available courses include:

• Principles of Microeconomics
• Social Issues in Education
• The Intellectual Tradition in the Ancient World
• Legal Environment of Business

Students complete internship semesters where they work in local schools. This degree leads to Texas teacher certification.

The Communication Specialist major is a combination of studies in digital media and speech communication. This program of study blends a leadership/management/organizational communication focus with the development of expertise in digital media production. This major is appropriate for students with a wide array of career aspirations but is most appropriate for those intending to take advantage of communication expertise in a corporate career track. Professional Selling

One key reason is that sales employs the largest number of business professionals and compensation is extremely attractive. Supported by the Center for Professional Selling, Baylor’s Professional Selling major equips students with core skills in selling, managing and growing long-term customer relationships.

ProSales guarantees placement in paid sales internships and placement prior to graduation for career roles. By competing in sales competitions at Baylor and across the country, students gain real-world sales experiences through high-level, complex role-play scenarios. Competitions, coursework and classroom experiences are the key to 100% placement in such organizations as 3M, Oracle, Owens Corning, A.J. Gallagher and Paycom, among others.

Baylor's Aviation Sciences program propels you into an aviation career, whether in the skies or on the ground. The degree provides a balance of aeronautical theory and application combined with technical education. Available courses include:

The Aviation Sciences major (Professional Pilot Concentration) is specifically designed for students wanting a career as a pilot (Airplane or Helicopter). Be aware that there are a limited number of flight slots for pilot students and so admission to the Professional Pilot Concentration is limited and competitive.

The Theatre Design and Technology major is ideal for students who wish to pursue careers in set design, costume design, lighting design, or technical design. Students work with the Theatre Arts production crews and can select a focus within the design categories, which can help them build their portfolio throughout their time at Baylor. The University Scholars major is a program within the Honors College. It is the most selective Baylor academic program and requires a separate application. The UNSC major fosters a love of inter-transdisciplinary discourse in the Liberal Arts and Sciences that affirms the student's unlimited potential in the rich academic and co-curricular offerings of Baylor University.

As their intellectual passion and vocation become apparent, students work with mentors in their disciplines of interest to craft an individualized educational journey made up of two or more concentrations. The degree plan includes a required reading list that needs to be completed by the students' junior year with the students' chosen major. The reading list consists of works of literature, politics, theology, and philosophy. These topics are discussed in small, seminar-style classes. Students must complete an exit interview in the spring of their junior year based on the required readings. As part of the program, students must also complete a senior thesis.
