The Physical Education major prepares students for teaching or coaching grades K-12. This degree program satisfies the requirements for the Texas Teachers Certification and prepares students to teach grades K-12 with an emphasis in coaching in either a private or a public school setting. Today’s ever expanding visual world is in increasing need of educated, visually trained professionals, whether as designers, teachers, artists, museum professionals, consultants, or for the many other professions that require creativity, visual acuity, and problem solving skills.

To meet these increasing needs the Baylor University Department of Art offers students both a BA or BFA (the professional undergraduate degree) in Studio Art with separate concentrations in seven area:

The Biochemistry major is designed to provide a firm foundation in biochemistry and prepare students for careers in health-related disciplines, medical research or biotechnology. Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management major (designated as a pre-major) is a comprehensive study of the way people work in a business. Communication Specialist
The Communication Specialist major is a combination of studies in digital media and speech communication. This program of study blends a leadership/management/organizational communication focus with the development of expertise in digital media production. Education - Secondary Physical Sciences
The Secondary Education program prepares students to work in grades 7-12. Graduates of the Secondary Education program earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with certification in one subject area (listed below). Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.

Art History
Art History is the study of various mediums of art and their changes over time. Studied mediums include painting, sculpture, graphic arts and other visual forms. The histories of these mediums are compared alongside political, religious, and cultural shifts. Students learn to examine and scrutinize artwork through spoken and written word. Coursework also includes the study of the impact history and art have had on one another. Course topics include:

• 19th-21st Century European and American Art

The Albritton Art Institute focuses on 19th and 20th century European and American artists. Each semester, the institute provides fully funded field studies that allow students to observe and analyze artwork firsthand. Past destinations include New York City, London, Chicago, Vienna, and Venice.

The small size of the art history programs fosters a high degree of individual interaction with the faculty and a serious intellectual atmosphere. The fact that the art history faculty are both active scholars and strong teachers provide unique opportunities for Baylor's art history majors to develop significant experience and expertise both inside and outside the classroom.

The Risk Management and Insurance major (designated as a pre-major) focuses on identifying financial and economic characteristics of risks to which firms and individuals are exposed and developing effective strategies for managing such risks. Available courses include:

The Apparel Merchandising program focuses on developing professional skills, such as communication, analytical thinking, teamwork and ethical behavior. These skills help sustain graduates as they apply management and marketing theory and business principles to the global fashion industry. Courses include:
