The International Year program is designed especially for international students. Environmental Health Science
Environmental Health Science studies the relationship between the environment and human health. This includes preventing illness by identifying and assessing hazardous agents, environmental sources and limiting exposures to chemical, physical and biological agents in air, water, soil, food and other environments that may impact human health. Environmental health professionals work to ensure safe water, food, air quality and workplace conditions, mitigate the impact of disasters and investigate and help control disease outbreaks. French
The French major prepares graduates to speak, read and write the French language fluently. Sociology is the science that studies the social relationships of people. Coursework includes the study of a wide range of human behaviors from individual development, to relational growth, social institutions including groups, organizations, cultures and social structures. Nutrition Sciences is the study of food its components, and how the body handles food substances. In the Nutrition Sciences major, you will explore how nutrients, and the foods from which they are derived, aid the body in growth and development and maintain health and wellness. Education - Special Education
The Special Education major prepares candidates to teach students to teach students with exceptional learning needs, from early childhood through 12th grade. Field experiences focus on students with varying levels of disability, ranging from mild to severe. The Special Education major offers two different undergraduate certificate options.

The first is an All-Level Special Education degree plan which prepares participants to only teach students with exceptional learning needs. These students range from early childhood through 12th grade.

The Special Education Supplemental plan prepares participants to teach general education to students ranging from early childhood through sixth grade. The second plan also prepares participants to teach students with exceptional learning needs. These students spend the majority of the school day in a general classroom.

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (M.S.M.E.) program, The M.S.M.E. is 30 semester-hour graduate programs comprising 24 hours of graduate course work and a 6-hour research-oriented thesis. A non-thesis option is available, comprising 27 hours of coursework and 3 hours of MS Project.

Chemistry
The Chemistry department is one of the select programs nationwide that offers a B.S. that is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and is authorized to offer the certified bachelor's degree in chemistry. The Chemistry Department offers four different Chemistry degree plans in order to provide curriculum to the widest possible range of student career goals. Available courses include:

• Recombinant DNA and Biotech
• Physical Chemistry
• Instrumental Analysis

The Chemistry department offers three different Bachelor of Science degrees and one Bachelor of Arts. Each of these programs is tailored to specific career goals so as to best prepare a variety of students. Students spend time in the classroom as well as in state-of-the art laboratories in the Baylor Sciences Building, our half-million square foot sciences facility.
