The International Year program is designed especially for international students. It is the first year of study at Baylor University, where students study a combination of English language courses and credit-bearing academic courses. Environmental Studies
The Environmental Studies major explores the interactions between human societies and the environment. The coursework investigates a variety of systems is the study of human interaction with the environment. The coursework discusses a variety of systems - political, economic and ecological - and their connections with the environment. The issues range from pollution and regulation to urbanization, agricultural development and climate change. Available courses include:

The Environmental Studies major is offered with concentrations in either Environment and Society or Natural Resources Management. Students are encouraged to take part in internships and research opportunities with faculty. Graduates are well prepared for positions in environment consulting firms and regulatory agencies. Other graduates pursue postbaccalaureate study in law, environmental planning and natural resources management.

Mathematics
The Mathematics major involves a variety of mathematical areas, both traditional and contemporary. The BS in Mathematics curriculum provides the student with a basic background in mathematics.  It allows a student to place some emphasis on an area of mathematics that is related to engineering, the biological, physical, or social sciences. The BA in Mathematics curriculum provides the student with a basic background in mathematics in the context of a liberal arts education.

Social Work
The Social Work program (designated as a pre-major) is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. At the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work, students learn about human dignity and the need for justice. They also learn about caring as the foundation for effective change and service that transforms lives and communities. Social Work is a profession that prepares practitioners to empower individuals. It also prepares them to advocate for social justice in organizations and communities. Coursework combines a thorough liberal arts education with field experience with community professionals. International Business is a second major and must be combined with another business major.  The major applies the basics taught within the general business school, but in the framework of a global setting. Coursework prepares students for positions of leadership in a dynamic environment of global production, exchange, information and finance. Available courses include:

Career opportunities are available for International Business majors in almost any field. Positions are most common in multinational markets, government agencies and business consulting firms, as well as energy industries and banking.

The Marketing major (designated as a pre-major) is a comprehensive study of promoting, pricing and placing a product. Marketing students can choose an emphasis in Sports, Strategy and Sales, Nonprofit and Social Enterprise Marketing or tailor their own marketing emphasis by selecting any three marketing courses beyond what is required.Available courses include:

• Marketing Research

A degree in Marketing qualifies graduates for many occupations like Sales and Customer Service, Product Management, and Marketing Research. Apparel Design and Product Development
The Apparel Design & Product Development curriculum develops students into professionals that will be successful in both the domestic and international marketplace. Fashion design is the development of apparel, textile and consumer products that meet the needs of specific consumer markets. Students develop an understanding of these needs through the study of consumer behavior, demographics and psychographics. Apparel Design courses are both creative and high technical. The Economics major is offered in three different degree programs, as a Bachelor of Business Administration (designated as a pre-major), a Bachelor of Arts (BA), or a Bachelor of Science (BS). Each degree program is a slightly different variation of the core curriculum based on the degree requirement differences between the College of Arts and Sciences and the Business School. Choosing an Economics major in the Business School (BBA) provides the opportunity to take classes targeted toward four different career positions: consultant, public agency analyst, international economist or corporate business economist. Other possibilities for students graduating with an Economics degree include taking a position as a product risk analyst or risk and control advisor. A Bachelor of Arts in Economics is ideal for students wishing to attend graduate or law school while the Bachelor of Science in Economics is ideal for those wishing to work in the medical or scientific field.

Latin
The Latin major, like the Greek major, is in the Classics Department. It is a rigorous study of the Classic Greek and Roman world. The Latin major focuses on original Latin texts and their cultural impact. Upon graduation, Latin majors are able to read and write in Latin. The Arabic and Middle East Studies major includes foreign language courses and those highlighting Middle East politics and culture. The importance of the Middle East in world affairs has grown in the past decade, and so has the need for workers who are trained in Arabic language and culture. Courses include:

Geology
Geology is the science that deals with the Earth's physical structure and substance, its history and the processes that act on it. The Geology major focuses on a wide variety of topics that include materials of the Earth (minerals and rocks) and processes that affect them, as well as the evolution of life and its relationship to Earth materials and processes. These processes can include the formation of rocks, mountains and volcanoes, wind and water.Geologists utilize chemistry, biology and physics to investigate environmental issues, hydrocarbon accumulations, natural hazards, water quality and availability, ores and valuable minerals and natural disasters.
