The International Year program is designed especially for international students. It is the first year of study at Baylor University, where students study a combination of English language courses and credit-bearing academic courses. So they can earn credits towards their degree from the beginning.

Economics
The Economics major is offered in three different degree programs, as a Bachelor of Business Administration (designated as a pre-major), a Bachelor of Arts (BA), or a Bachelor of Science (BS). Each degree program is a slightly different variation of the core curriculum based on the degree requirement differences between the College of Arts and Sciences and the Business School. Available courses include:

• International Economics

Choosing an Economics major in the Business School (BBA) provides the opportunity to take classes targeted toward four different career positions: consultant, public agency analyst, international economist or corporate business economist. Other possibilities for students graduating with an Economics degree include taking a position as a product risk analyst or risk and control advisor. A Bachelor of Arts in Economics is ideal for students wishing to attend graduate or law school while the Bachelor of Science in Economics is ideal for those wishing to work in the medical or scientific field.

The Interior Design program prepares students for thriving careers across the varied sectors that define the architecture and design professions.For more than forty years, Baylor's program has developed critical thinkers and problem solvers who apply design solutions to address challenges of individuals and communities. The program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). Students learn to apply the design process and technical skills to creatively solve design problems. The Interior Design program is a studio-based major. A sampling of required courses include:

Interior Design students must complete an internship with a qualified interior designer or architect for course credit. Our students have interned around the globe in a wide variety of design specialties ranging from Residential to Corporate to Historic Preservation.

The Biochemistry major is designed to provide a firm foundation in biochemistry and prepare students for careers in health-related disciplines, medical research or biotechnology. A solid background in biochemistry is an important advantage for medical school and many Biochemistry majors declare a Pre-Health track. Biochemistry students are encouraged to take more biology courses than the typical chemistry major. Available courses include:

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry is a good choice for students who wish to attend a professional school in medicine or dentistry. Astronomy
Astronomy is the study of the universe and all the bodies within it. It examines origins of the universe, stars and planets as well as how they move and evolve in space. Since scientists are rarely able to physically examine many objects in space, astronomy is mostly an observational science. Math, physics, chemistry and geology contribute to astronomy and help inform our understanding of the universe. Astronomy also relies on a variety of instruments, tools, and computer software for analysis and gathering data. Available courses include:

The Management Information Systems (MIS) major is designated as a pre-major.  This major prepares students to become information systems professionals and integrate IT solutions with business processes. The goal is to enable businesses to meet their objectives in an effective, efficient way.  Available courses include:

Communication Sciences and Disorders is a major that trains students in the processes of communication and speaking. This includes education in identifying and treating various disorders of communication and speech. In this field, professionals seek to diagnose and treat a variety of disorders, improving communication while also improving quality of life. Baylor's major in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) emphasizes speech-language pathology and offers comprehensive education in the fundamental principles of the field. The Film and Digital Media major (designated as a pre-major) gives students a holistic understanding of media-based entertainment. Students learn the creative process of storytelling and the technical aspects of film, video, audio and new media production. The program also includes courses in screenwriting, media effects and media management. Courses available include:

Students are prepared for a variety of careers in radio, television, cable and allied fields, and for careers in which knowledge of and skills in electronic and film communication are an integral part of professional activity. They will also have the opportunity to showcase their work through the Black Glasses Film Festival which exhibits the best student work in both film-making and screenwriting.

The History program at Baylor is for students intrigued by the stories we tell about our past. History is the study of the human past as it is constructed and interpreted, based on written, material, and oral evidence.
