Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management major (designated as a pre-major) is a comprehensive study of the way people work in a business. The study includes the hiring process, employee training, conflict resolution and career planning. The program's goal is to train students to be competent human resource specialists who work strategically with organizations to recruit the right talent, motivate them with compensation and make them even more valuable through training and development. Art History is the study of various mediums of art and their changes over time. Studied mediums include painting, sculpture, graphic arts and other visual forms. The histories of these mediums are compared alongside political, religious, and cultural shifts. Students learn to examine and scrutinize artwork through spoken and written word. Coursework also includes the study of the impact history and art have had on one another. Course topics include:

• Renaissance and Baroque
• Contemporary Art
• 19th-21st Century European and American Art

The Albritton Art Institute focuses on 19th and 20th century European and American artists. Each semester, the institute provides fully funded field studies that allow students to observe and analyze artwork firsthand. Past destinations include New York City, London, Chicago, Vienna, and Venice.

The small size of the art history programs fosters a high degree of individual interaction with the faculty and a serious intellectual atmosphere. The fact that the art history faculty are both active scholars and strong teachers provide unique opportunities for Baylor's art history majors to develop significant experience and expertise both inside and outside the classroom.

Sociology is the science that studies the social relationships of people. Coursework includes the study of a wide range of human behaviors from individual development, to relational growth, social institutions including groups, organizations, cultures and social structures. Environmental Health Science
Environmental Health Science studies the relationship between the environment and human health. This includes preventing illness by identifying and assessing hazardous agents, environmental sources and limiting exposures to chemical, physical and biological agents in air, water, soil, food and other environments that may impact human health. Environmental health professionals work to ensure safe water, food, air quality and workplace conditions, mitigate the impact of disasters and investigate and help control disease outbreaks.
