In the Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies major, you will critically examine the origins and root causes of violence and conflict, and learn strategies for resolving interpersonal, communal and international conflicts peacefully. You will master the theoretical and intellectual frameworks related to peace building, human rights advocacy and justice development by learning to interpret real life situations and applying strategies for advocacy, consensus-building, partnership development and other intervention tools.

You will complete an internship with an organization related to peace, social justice or conflict resolution.

In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art, Media, and Design programs, you will expand your artistic potential through a broad-based education in studio art, photography and media art, or graphic art.

Learn the history of and experience the creative possibilities of visual culture through a project-based curriculum in art-making. The programs emphasize fundamental artistic concepts through problem solving and experimentation in studio courses.

You’ll work closely with faculty who are practicing artists in dedicated art studios on campus.

As you work on your art and design degree, you’ll spend time in photography dark rooms, wood and metal workshops, and in studios in the following art areas: sculpture, printmaking, video, photography, digital photography, graphic art, painting and drawing.

DePaul’s Marketing MBA program will give you a strong foundation in market research, category management, business development and digital marketing. Specialize in one of these four areas, or combine areas of specialization to suit your career goals. This degree offers you a path to a number of positions, including account manager, digital marketing manager, director of research or senior research analyst.

As a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor Science (BS) in Biological Sciences major, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in a wide range of careers in science, research, education, health and other fields.

Inside and outside the classroom, you’ll learn to think independently and work collaboratively. Here, most faculty members direct their own research programs, giving you an opportunity to work on multiple research projects. Biological Sciences majors are encouraged to attend seminars and complete internships.

If you’re interested in pursuing a career in education, the Department of Biological Sciences also partners with the College of Education to award teaching degrees.

The B.S. in Biological Sciences major offers you a structured curriculum, with more of an emphasis on science- and math-focused courses. As you gain a strong foundation of knowledge in biological science theories and practices, you'll choose one of the following concentrations:

The Master of Music in performance degree prepares students for professional music careers in a supportive, collegial environment.  Graduate students study with highly celebrated performers who are committed to teaching excellence.  The graduate performance program consists of applied lessons, ensembles, core studies in music theory/history and research, and related studies.  The Master of Music degree is a two year program.

In the Exercise Science (EXS) degree program you will learn the scientific principles that relate to human movement. Upon completion of your Exercise Science degree you will be qualified to pursue careers in a variety of areas in the health sciences, as well as apply for graduate programs related to the fitness and exercise sciences.

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is the professional organization that establishes guidelines and competencies for the field of exercise science and serves as the guide for the EXS degree program’s academic quality.

As a German major, you’ll study German and Austrian cultures (authors, musicians, literature), language and notions of German history. German is the most widely spoken first language in the European Union, and German-speaking countries are among the most influential engines driving culture, business and politics today.

Through your studies, you will learn that the German-speaking world is rich and multifaceted, including the works of Mozart, Goethe, Freud, Kafka and Marx. As a German major, you’ll explore the crucial questions of memory and history particular to the German past. You’ll become equipped with crucial skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, and intercultural communication—providing you with career opportunities around the world.

Our interdisciplinary studies master’s degree programs emphasize liberal studies education and enhance your intellectual skills. You’ll design your own program, which will allow you to study multiple academic disciplines, including traditional humanities, social sciences, education, business, computing and digital media.

The Catholic Studies program will provide you with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Catholic contribution to society. Explore Roman Catholicism as a religious and cultural reality that expresses and motivates multiple forms of human expression.

Catholic Studies majors study and work with faculty members from a number of DePaul’s colleges and departments, including anthropology, economics, English, philosophy, religious studies and the College of Science and Health.
