In the Management Information Systems (MIS) program, you’ll learn both the business and technological foundations of information systems management. DePaul’s undergraduate MIS degree program will prepare you to pursue a variety of careers requiring both business and technological skills.

As you earn your MIS degree, you will

• Acquire a broad understanding of information technologies and the information systems life cycle as they apply to business processes
• Gain the ability to identify organizational data
• design and manipulate databases
• Integrate technical knowledge with an understanding of business operations

As a Marketing major at DePaul, you’ll deepen your understanding of how marketing delivers value to customers and businesses. You will develop your skills for analyzing and solving market problems to create and implement marketing strategies.

Choose from one of three concentrations for your bachelor’s degree in Marketing:

• Digital Marketing incorporates the coursework you’ll need to be successful in organizations that emphasize social media, interactive and mobile marketing.
• Standard Marketing provides you with the flexibility to tailor courses to fit a wide array of careers that interest you.
• Sales Leadership allows you to combine classroom learning with real-world experiences, preparing you for professional growth opportunities that often come with success in sales management. Our interdisciplinary studies master’s degree programs emphasize liberal studies education and enhance your intellectual skills. You’ll design your own program, which will allow you to study multiple academic disciplines, including traditional humanities, social sciences, education, business, computing and digital media.

In the Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies major, you will critically examine the origins and root causes of violence and conflict, and learn strategies for resolving interpersonal, communal and international conflicts peacefully. You will master the theoretical and intellectual frameworks related to peace building, human rights advocacy and justice development by learning to interpret real life situations and applying strategies for advocacy, consensus-building, partnership development and other intervention tools.

You will complete an internship with an organization related to peace, social justice or conflict resolution.

Take advantage of DePaul’s Study Abroad programs in order to gain an international perspective on the causes of violence and conflict, as well as strategies for negotiation and resolution.

DePaul’s Art program provides a broad foundation in studio art with classes that focus on understanding fundamental artistic concepts through research and conceptual thinking, creative problem solving, artistic skill development, and the historical functions of art and how it impacts the present day and the future.

Art majors at DePaul take a wide range of courses in state-of-the-art facilities, including digital computer labs, darkrooms, and studios for wood and metal sculpture, video, printmaking, painting and drawing.

As a Mathematics and Computer Science major, you will take coursework in both the College of Computing and Digital Media and the College of Science and Health. Courses will prepare you for a profession in a variety of areas in computer science, graphics, data analysis, computer programming, and applied or discrete mathematics.

The Mathematics and Computer Science undergraduate major is designed to prepare you for graduate study in various areas of computer science, including theoretical computer science, graphics, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and computational methods in applied mathematics. It is also designed to prepare you to compete for theoretical, complex jobs in computer software development.

Earn your master’s in International Studies and develop a complex, informal perspective on global inequality. This academically rigorous, thesis-optional program, grounded in critical theory, focuses on themes of power and global systems. We’re dedicated to building a community of scholars and researchers who demonstrate a commitment to questioning power and politics in a way that bridges theory and practice.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

Prepare to share your skills and knowledge as a classroom instructor of math. DePaul’s MS in Mathematics for Teaching is the only graduate program in the area for career-changers planning to teach math at the community college level. Intensive weekend and evening sessions focus on

• Differential and integral calculus, numerical algorithms related to calculus and implementation of these algorithms using graphing calculators and web-based software;
• Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry using software packages that emphasize content connected to the high school curriculum;
• Discrete mathematical structures with an emphasis on logic, proof and mathematical reasoning;
• Probability and statistics with an introduction to combinatorics;
• History of elementary number theory, algebra and geometry;
• Topics in abstract algebra that relate to high school courses in algebra, geometry and trigonometry;
• Differential equations and advanced linear algebra; and
• Topics in real analysis with an emphasis on improving calculus instruction.
