The Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) prepares students to ideate, design, implement, and evaluate computer-based technologies so they are useful and usable for end users. This interdisciplinary degree integrates concepts and methods from computer science, graphic design and the social sciences. Drawing upon these concepts and methods, students learn user-centered and participatory design approaches as they create information and communication technologies (ICTs) such as dynamic web sites, mobile apps and desktop applications. Particular emphasis is given to ICT evaluation, exploratory user research, information architecture, interaction design, and prototype development.

The Master of Science in Real Estate equips you with the skills necessary to help you launch your career in real estate investment analysis and finance. Whether you’re a career changer or you already work in the industry and want to deepen your skills, the MS in Real Estate gives you a strong foundation for real estate industry leadership by immersing you in real-world projects with real Chicago companies.

DePaul’s MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing will prepare and empower you to write a novel or memoir, or a collection of poetry or stories while at DePaul. You’ll work across genres under the mentorship of distinguished authors and poets. With courses in Copyediting, Book Publicity, Book Design, Teaching Creative Writing, and Teaching English you’ll have the choice of a career in publishing or teaching. The Creative Writing and Publishing MFA culminates with a required master’s thesis of publishable quality.

The Chinese Studies program focuses on developing your ability to speak Mandarin Chinese and understand Chinese society and culture. Twenty percent of the global population speaks Chinese, making it the most-spoken language in the world. Having the ability to speak and understand Chinese will make you a marketable candidate in a variety of professional fields, such as business, consulting or politics.

As a Chinese Studies major, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in one of DePaul’s Study Abroad programs in Beijing, Hong Kong or Shanghai, where you’ll experience and immerse yourself in Chinese language and culture.

Through our MS in Environmental Science program, you’ll gain the conservation land management skills and tools necessary to succeed in a wide range of environmentally focused careers.

The MBA concentration in Marketing Strategy and Planning trains future upper-level managers to master the art of business development and marketing. Earn your master’s in Sustainable Urban Development and explore how cities cope with the demand for environmental sustainability while supporting economic growth and social justice. You will look at sustainability holistically, researching urban environments as an integrated system. Beyond theoretical knowledge, you’ll gain a technical foundation using industry-standard Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping software.

Gain a deeper understanding of the fundamentals that govern economic activity. In the Applied Economics MBA program, you’ll study the forces that drive markets and the economics of the decision-making processes of businesses and consumers. You’ll get to hone your problem-solving abilities and have the option of two tracks for further specialization: Applied Microeconomics & Policy Analysis and The Economic Environment.

As a DePaul Film and Television major, you’ll choose between two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Film and Television.

Our BA in Film and Television program will provide you with a generalist approach to filmmaking and tv production by teaching you how to use the latest digital technology and examining classic cinema narrative theory and aesthetics.

Our BFA in Film and Television program emphasizes the technical aspects of media production and explores the relationship between cinema production technologies and creative artistic expression. You’ll choose one of 11 filmmaking concentrations.
