Our interdisciplinary studies master’s degree programs emphasize liberal studies education and enhance your intellectual skills. You’ll design your own program, which will allow you to study multiple academic disciplines, including traditional humanities, social sciences, education, business, computing and digital media.

Our Real Estate degree program will prepare you to work and excel in the real estate community at the local and national levels, and to adapt to future changes in the industry.

As a Real Estate major, you’ll strengthen your financial and analytical skills, including risk analysis, portfolio construction and management, cash flow analysis and investment strategy. As you work towards your degree, you’ll gain an understanding of the organizational structure of financial institutions and the impact of financial markets on real estate. You’ll also examine how historical development of real estate impacts present and future development patterns.

Earn your master’s in Sustainable Urban Development and explore how cities cope with the demand for environmental sustainability while supporting economic growth and social justice. The program is framed by a simple value—that a sustainable city is one that’s sustainable for everyone. You will look at sustainability holistically, researching urban environments as an integrated system. Beyond theoretical knowledge, you’ll gain a technical foundation using industry-standard Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping software.

Understand how religion impacts our political and social systems while exploring and analyzing religious dimensions of life and culture. Develop critical thinking and writing skills with a religious studies degree and learn how religion impacts culture, politics, identity and conflict around the world.

You will study traditional areas of sacred texts, myths, rituals, mystical experiences and doctrines, but also the ways in which political, social and economic forces shape these phenomena for religious communities.

In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematical Sciences programs, your mathematics degree coursework will teach you fundamentals of pure and applied mathematics, preparing you for a career in mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, social sciences or business.

As a mathematics degree student, you’ll choose one of the following seven concentrations:

• Quantitative Analysis and Operations Research

DePaul’s Master of Public Service Management (MPS) is designed to teach you broad-based management skills that lead to careers across many sectors, including nonprofit, governmental agencies, higher education and health care.

You’ll choose a concentration in one of the following areas:

• Emergency Management
• Health Care Administration
• Higher Education Administration
• Metropolitan Planning and Urban Affairs

Health Care Administration Concentration
The Health Care Administration concentration provides students with the managerial and analytical skills necessary to understand and influence the processes through which hospitals, associated health care organizations, and public and private agencies provide health care opportunities to explore the roles of specific nonprofit and governmental health care providers and regulatory agencies.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. DePaul’s MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing will prepare and empower you to write a novel or memoir, or a collection of poetry or stories while at DePaul. You’ll work across genres under the mentorship of distinguished authors and poets. With courses in Copyediting, Book Publicity, Book Design, Teaching Creative Writing, and Teaching English you’ll have the choice of a career in publishing or teaching. The Creative Writing and Publishing MFA culminates with a required master’s thesis of publishable quality.

The MFA in Game Design is for creative visionaries intent on producing socially, culturally, and emotionally substantial work. The degree prepares students to advance the frontier of games by exploring emerging theories and applying them to practice. The games students create throughout their degree will be challenged by peers and faculty in critiques. Graduates of the program will be equipped to define and realize their authentic, thriving professional lives. An MFA is also a terminal degree that opens opportunities to teach at the university level and enter an academic tenure-track career.
