Health Care
The health care concentration addresses the increasing need of data scientists responsible for gathering, integrating, analyzing and presenting health care data. Some courses are available online. Data science master’s students will learn analytics methods to support clinical decision systems, to improve patients’ outcomes and patients’ experience, and to improve clinical care and costs.

DePaul’s Game Design degree program teaches the fundamentals and details of game design, and prepares you to work in computer gaming and interactive media fields as storytellers, critical thinkers, entrepreneurs and leaders in the field of gaming.

Throughout the Game Design program, you’ll collaborate on interdisciplinary teams with programmers, artists, writers and audio designers.

Motion Graphics
Motion Graphics, sometimes known as Motion Design, involves putting graphic forms, text, and photographic elements into motion using the principles of animation. These are almost always paired with sound and music for a specific purpose, such as in advertisements, educational and industrial videos, films and television titles, visual effects, and video games. The Master of Music in composition program offers students one-on-one instruction with DePaul's distinguished faculty of active composers as well as many seminars with guest composers and performers from Chicago and across the country. Graduate composition majors have their compositions performed during DePaul Composers Forum, a quarterly student composition concert, and submit works to be read and possibly performed by Ensemble 20+, DePaul Wind Ensemble, University Singers or the DePaul Chamber Orchestra. DePaul also offers two assistantships to graduate composition students.

The industrial design degree program will teach you how to hone your aesthetic design skills in order to develop prototypes for consumer and industrial products. You’ll take technical and mathematics courses from which you will learn analytical competence needed to successfully develop your prototyping ability.

As an Industrial Design major, you will become a member of DePaul’s makerspace community and work alongside award-winning faculty in the Idea Realization Lab (IRL) or IRL2 — DePaul’s interdisciplinary 4,500-square-foot campus makerspaces (located on the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses, respectively). In this community, you will learn to design within the constraints of what is practical and possible through the use of several rapid prototyping technologies.
